Kardashians Reunion Recap Pt. 1: “KUWTK” supplement (S20, Ep13)
Kim Kardashian may refuse to let her past define her, but she knows that it is impossible to run away from it.
The E! Stern left nothing on the table but Andy Cohen broached the subject of her 2002 sex video with her boyfriend at the time Ray J during the first part of Keeping Up With the Kardashians on June 17th.
“Do you think the show would have had its massive initial success without the public surrounding the sex tape?” Andy asked, to which Kim replied, “In retrospect, probably not.”
The pornographic film had leaked months before KUWTK premiered in 2007, and Kim agreed to openly address the controversy on the series’ first episode. That decision, Kim said, laid the foundation for a philosophy she continues to follow.
“I think everything happens for a reason and I really try to live like that,” said the Mughal. “Anytime there’s a crazy scandal that feels like you can’t breathe and how are you supposed to get through it, it’s always a lesson. Even if it’s a private lesson or if it’s just something we didn’t know we had to go through. “
