Four Issues To Look For In A House Enchancment Mortgage: Cash Information

A home renovation loan can add to your home renovation savings. Find out how it works, what it can be used for, and what important things to consider when buying a home improvement loan.

Now that you’ve finally received the keys to your nest, it’s time to sort out the renovations so you can move in asap. In an ideal world, everyone would have enough savings to pay to renovate their home.

For those of us who may be short of cash to pay for all of the required renovations and fixtures, a home renovation loan might be worth a look.

As the name suggests, a home renovation loan is a loan that is specifically designed for homeowners to finance their home renovation project. Of course, you don’t have to rely solely on a home renovation loan to make your dream home a reality.

In fact, a home renovation loan can complement any savings that you have made.

How does a home renovation loan work?

Home improvement loans typically have lower interest rates compared to personal loans.

With a term of one to five years, those taking out a home renovation loan will have to make monthly repayments over the course of their loan term.

To ensure that the borrowers do not abuse the renovation loan, the approved loan amount is paid directly to the renovation companies in the form of a cashier order or multiple cashier orders.

Site visits may also be conducted after the payout has been made to ensure that the proceeds from the renovation loan are used for the specified renovation work, as shown in the listing.

What can a home renovation loan be used for?

You can use a home renovation loan to pay for all of the home renovation-related things, such as:

  • Flooring and tiles
  • Painting and renovation work
  • carpentry
  • Electrical and wiring work
  • Basic bathroom fittings
  • Structural changes
  • External work within the connections of your home, such as the balcony, roof, backyard or porch
  • Installation of solar panels

What can a renovation loan not be used for?

You are not allowed to use a home renovation loan to pay for furniture, home appliances, artwork, smart home devices, curtains, and more.

Important Things to Consider When Applying for a Home Improvement Loan

1. Subsidy interest

For anyone looking to cut the cost of their home renovation loan, it is always a good idea to compare the different home renovation loans available and keep an eye on the special interest rates offered by banks on a regular basis.

Nowadays, banks like DBS / POSB and OCBC are also offering lower interest rates for customers who are environmentally conscious and are committed to making their homes more energy efficient, environmentally friendly and sustainable.

2. Processing Fees

In addition to the interest rate, note the processing fee that may apply to the home renovation loan.

Some banks charge a processing fee of one percent of the approved loan amount, while others charge 1.5 percent. Some do not charge a processing fee at all.

3. The maximum amount of credit available to you

In addition to doing your own homework to figure out how much to borrow to finance your home renovation project, knowing how much you can actually borrow is also important.

When it comes to home renovation loans in Singapore, the maximum loan amount available to borrowers is capped at six times monthly income or $ 30,000, whichever is lower.

You also need a minimum annual salary of $ 24,000 to apply for a home renovation loan.

4. Other fees and charges

When purchasing a home renovation loan, be aware of the fees and charges that may apply in certain circumstances, such as: B. Overdue Interest, Late Payment, Early Repayment, and Cancellation.

Typically, the early repayment fee is one to two percent of the outstanding loan balance. So be sure to take this into account when figuring out the more specific details of your home renovation loan, such as: B. Your repayment term, loan amount, etc., as well as your ability to repay the loan.

How to lower your renovation costs

Like it or not, renovation projects cost a pretty penny.

While it’s nice to bring your Pinterest mood boards to life, you need to understand the importance of spending within your means to avoid running into excessive debt.

Compare your interior designers and contractors for quotes before deciding on one.

Instead of borrowing a huge sum just so you can have your dream home, consider your priorities very carefully.

Ask yourself difficult questions and think about them well. Here are a few to get you started:

  • Do you really need to chop the ground when it’s already done?
  • What about covering with laminate or tiles instead of tearing open the entire floor?
  • Do you have to build so much carpentry?
  • Do you really need to hack the walls? Is this your home forever
  • Are there any less expensive materials that you can use?

While there are certainly ways to fund your home renovation project, it is wise to consider what you really need or want and what is in your budget.

After all, the memories you make will build a dream home, not just the money you spend on it.

Acquire the most recent drivers from Nvidia to dam these high-risk errors

Windows users with Nvidia graphics cards should update their display drivers immediately to resolve several problematic (and potentially crash-causing) errors.

Nvidia is new Security bulletin outlines thirteen major vulnerabilities; Five are related to Nvidia’s display drivers and eight are included in Nvidia’s vGPU software. While all thirteen pose serious threats, the five display driver errors pose the greatest risk for regular users as they affect all Windows and Linux PCs with an Nvidia GPU.

  • CVE-2021-1074: 7.5 CVSS Rating. Allows local attackers with physical access to your PC to tamper with the Nvidia installer. The attack could use this vulnerability to execute malicious code, steal your data, or perform a denial of service attack.
  • CVE-2021-1075: 7.3 CVSS rating. A memory issue in Nvidia’s Windows display driver that leaves your PC open to various malware attacks and remote access.
  • CVE-2021-1076: 6.6 CVSS rating. An issue in Windows and Linux drivers that could allow hackers to access, steal, and / or damage your PC’s data, and use denial-of-service attacks.
  • CVE-2021-1077: 6.6 CVSS rating. Another problem in Windows and Linux drivers that can be used to launch denial-of-service attacks.
  • CVE-2021-1078: 5.5 CVSS rating. A problem in the Windows drivers that can lead to sudden PC crashes.

Nvidia released an emergency patch last week to address these vulnerabilities. You can download the updated drivers from the GeForce Experience app or simply download the installation file from Nvidia’s download page.

Of the eight vGPU software errors, four are fatal and have a CVSS rating of 7.8. The others range from 5.1 to 7.5 CVSS threat levels. They allow several possible outcomes, such as: B. Attacks on privilege escalation, arbitrary code execution, information disclosure, data manipulation, denial-of-service attacks, memory corruption and much more. These are serious threats too, but only affect those who license Nvidia’s vGPU software.

Kevin Bacon reacts to Kyra Sedgwick’s wild night time at Tom Cruise

Kevin Bacon keeps an eye on his wife.

Earlier this month Kyra Sedgwick made headlines after remembering a memorable dinner party. When hanging out at Tom CruiseOnce inside, the actress accidentally pressed his panic button, which resulted in police checking into the property.

While on the Drew Barrymore Show, Kevin was asked about the memorable evening. As it turned out, the actor was trying to play it cool.

“I just apologized,” he said Drew Barrymore subsequently from April 28th. “‘Oh honey, she’s so crazy. There she goes again and pushes buttons.'”

For better or for worse, the apology may not have been enough. When Kyra appeared on the daytime talk show earlier this month, he remembered five police cars running to the house. And no, she wasn’t invited back.

“It was one of those evenings that I’m often not invited to,” joked Kyra. “And so there was this fireplace mantle and I looked around and there was this little button under the mantle. I said, ‘Oh, what’s that little button?’ So I pushed the little button because I thought maybe something interesting was going to happen. “

At this time of year, the sky offers welcome visual treats for mere mortals on the ground. Maybe you’re thirsting for the next big thing in the cosmos, given that Lyrids have come and gone this month and the pink Super moon has already subsided into a less breathtaking phase.

Don’t despair: space offers more reasons to venture outside in the wee hours of the morning to see another show that’s been in full swing since April 19: the Eta Aquarid meteor shower. This special shower comes from the legendary Halley’s Comet and lets burning fragments of rock and ice shoot through the cosmos 148,000 miles per hour.

Don’t worry, you can still see these very fast-paced space rocks if you follow normal stargazing protocol – especially if you live in a more southern latitude.

What are the Eta Aquarids?

They come from Halley’s Comet, which itself is only visible from Earth every 76 years. Due to Halley’s icy, gaseous, and dusty composition, parts of the comet flake off each April and May when the Earth crosses its orbital path, creating this particular shower. The shower is at a breakneck pace, but luckily for stargazers, the meteors leave “ionized gas trails that glow for a few seconds after passing the meteor”. according to Earthsky.

Halley’s comet actually has another meteor shower that presents itself in October, the Orionids. However, the Eta Aquarids will perform from April 19 to May 28 this year, with their peak occurring on Thursday May 5

How to see the Eta Aquarids

The meteors come from their ray, the constellation Aquarius. In particular, the star of origin of the meteor is Eta Aquarii, which can be found in the Y-shaped asterism “water jug” in the northern part of Aquarius. Earthsky points out.

It is not essential that you locate the beam of a meteor shower to see it, as rocks shooting through the sky usually cover an area wide enough to peek just by looking up . However, the peak of the radiator indicates when a meteor shower will peak. Earthsky explains how this works in relation to this particular shower:

For the Eta-Aquariids, radiation rises highest in the night sky shortly before sunrise. This is why you can expect to see most of the meteors early in the morning.

Although the other meteor showers that occurred this year were prime observation for people in northern latitudes, the Eta Aquarids are most visible to people in the southern hemisphere (although they are still visible to people in the northern hemisphere).

In other words, if you live in the American South or Southwest, you’re getting prime views. But no matter where you live, the show will still be visible, albeit less dazzling. NASA notes that the shower typically sends 10 meteors an hour across the sky in the northern hemisphere, but that could get as high as 20 in more southerly areas.

The best way to see the show is to venture outside late at night. Earthsky notes that the shower technically peaks in the late evening while the radiation is still relatively low, but subsides as the radiation moves higher in the sky:

Late in the evening is the best time to see earth eaters, meteors that make exceptionally long streaks across your sky. When the radiation rises higher – that is, when the hours of the night pass before dawn – you see shorter meteors, but more meteors.

As usual, avoid light pollution and look up if you decide to wander outside of the visual feast.

If all the camps closed last summer, this summer is the time to find out how to keep them open. While we are completing a school year mostly focused on schools trying to figure out how to get kids back into class as safely as possible, parents are looking forward to a summer that hopefully feels a little more normal than last summer – and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention is on time with its updated summer camp guidelines.

Things open up again and the general restrictions loosen up as more adults are vaccinated. However, children under the age of 16 are still not entitled to their own shot, and new variants of the virus are emerging and circulating. Therefore, many precautionary measures must be taken in day and overnight camps this summer.

General guidelines

The CDC guidelines recommend grouping campers and employees into “cohorts” that stay together throughout the day. Once sorted, here they are Physical distancing recommendations::

  • At least 3 feet between all campers within a cohort
  • At least 6 feet between all campers outside of their cohort
  • At least 6 feet when eating and drinking, even among people within the same cohort
  • At least 6 feet between campers and staff
  • At least 6 feet between employees

Masks should be worn by everyone except when they are eating, drinking, napping (when children should be as far apart as possible, from head to toe), or swimming (a wet mask can make breathing difficult and may not work anyway) .

Outdoor activities are highly recommended whenever possible. Whenever this is not possible, the CDC emphasizes the importance of ventilating indoor areas by opening doors and windows, using fans, and reducing occupancy (this applies to both facilities and any camp transport vehicles used). Sports and other sporting activities should be carried out outdoors whenever possible. The CDC advises against indoor and close-contact sports, and says players should wear masks when they are six feet apart.

Other typical camp activities that may produce droplets of breath should be done outdoors, with masks on, and at a distance of two meters. This includes singing, singing and screaming.

The guidelines also emphasize the limitation of common objects. The items of each motorhome should be kept separate and in individual, labeled containers or cubes. Staff and campers should be encouraged to bring their own water from home to limit the use of water fountains. Campers should also have more than one mask so that a dirty mask can easily be replaced with a clean mask.

Overnight camp

In addition to all of this, the CDC has additional recommendations for overnight camps. They suggest that camps encourage eligible staff, volunteers, campers, and family members to get fully vaccinated (ideally at least two weeks before traveling to camp). They recommend unvaccinated campers and staff to quarantine themselves for two weeks before arriving. Campers and staff who are not fully vaccinated should have a negative virus test done no more than three days prior to arrival.

Once they arrive, campers should be screened for symptoms and assigned to cohorts that stay together and distance themselves from other cohorts. Campers and staff sleeping in the same room should be viewed as a “household cohort” and do not need to mask or socially disassociate themselves from one another unless someone from outside the cohort is present. When different cohorts come together outdoors or indoors, everyone should practice the usual recommendations on masking, physical distancing, and healthy hygiene.

Dr. Scott Gottlieb said Wednesday that the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention will need to update their coronavirus policies faster if the pandemic situation improves.

A day earlier, the US health agency issued new, relaxed guidelines on how fully vaccinated people should wear masks outdoors.

“The guidelines issued by CDC are a step in the right direction, in my opinion, but relatively confusing,” Gottlieb, a former commissioner for the Food and Drug Administration, told CNBC’s Squawk Box. “It is not very clear what they prescribe. I think we need simpler rules if we want to prescribe something about society.”

People who have been fully vaccinated – two weeks after their final dose – can safely exercise and go to small outdoor gatherings without wearing a face mask, according to the new CDC guidance. However, the CDC recommends that fully vaccinated individuals continue to wear masks when attending a crowded outdoor event, such as an outdoor event. B. a parade, a sports game or a concert.

The CDC also said that if those other participants are fully vaccinated, it is safe for unvaccinated Americans to forego wearing a mask while attending a small outdoor gathering with friends and family.

The CDC needs to better define what it wants to achieve at this stage of the pandemic when national infection rates are falling and more than 54% of adults in the US have received at least one dose of vaccine, said Gottlieb, who sits on the board of directors at Covid vaccine maker Pfizer.

“I think the public health goal should be to try to protect vulnerable populations in gathering environments. So keep focusing on nursing homes, day care centers where young children live, and trying to prevent major outbreaks and overarching events to prevent.” he said.

According to CDC data, around 68% of US citizens age 65 and over have been fully vaccinated, while around 82% of the most at-risk populations have received at least one dose.

“We won’t be able to prevent a single rollout where a single person spreads a virus to a single person, but against the backdrop of the decline [coronavirus] Prevalence, rising vaccination rates and more vulnerable Americans protected by vaccinations, we have to lean forward, “said Gottlieb, who headed the FDA in the Trump administration from 2017 to 2019.

The 7-day average of new coronavirus cases per day in the US is around 53,800, according to a CNBC analysis of Johns Hopkins University data. That is 17% less than a week ago.

The US has an average of 676 new Covid deaths per day based on a seven day moving average. This is evident from CNBC’s analysis of the Hopkins data. This corresponds to a decrease of 6% compared to a week ago.

Gottlieb, who called for an end to outdoor mask requirements earlier this week, said he was concerned about the impact of the CDC, which continues to be overly cautious with its guidelines.

“I think the risk to CDC as an institution – it’s a hugely important institution – is that it will lose its relevance and people will stop listening,” he said, warning those in the US to the coronavirus guidelines establish.

“The challenge is that if we do not lift these restrictions with the same speed and efficiency that we have placed on them, we will lose credibility as public health officials to reintroduce them in the future because more of the rest of the world People will worry about it are a one-way street, “he said.

The CDC did not immediately respond to CNBC’s request for comment.

Disclosure: Scott Gottlieb is a CNBC employee and a member of the boards of directors of Pfizer, genetic testing startup Tempus, health technology company Aetion Inc., and biotech company Illumina. He is also co-chair of the Healthy Sail Panel for Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings and Royal Caribbean.

According to a securities filing, Tesla is sitting on Bitcoin valued at around $ 2.5 billion, which gives the automaker a significant profit on paper just a few months after the investment.

The automaker announced that its investment in the volatile cryptocurrency was valued at $ 2.48 billion at the end of March. The company announced earlier this year that it had purchased $ 1.5 billion worth of Bitcoin and planned to accept it as payment for vehicles.

Tesla announced Monday that it posted $ 101 million in net income from the sale of Bitcoin for the quarter, which helped push net income to a record high in the first quarter. Tesla does not consider Bitcoin as a market value, meaning it only captures a profit advantage when it sells to secure profits.

Bitcoin traded near $ 59,000 on the last day of March, slightly above its price on Wednesday morning. The crypto asset has changed a lot in the past few weeks, trading well above $ 60,000 before falling sharply below $ 50,000.

Tesla’s shares fell 1.6% in premarket trading on Wednesday. The stock, which was among the best in the past few years, has fallen more than 15% in the past three months.

Including Lasers and Different AR Results to Apple’s Clips App

You’ve been able to add some quirky effects to your Clips videos in iOS for a long time, but iOS 14.5 brings new augmented reality effects to the app that let you fill your room with Party City-style lasers, virtual confetti, and more More. You’ll need an iPhone 12 Pro or iPad Pro with LIDAR (March 2020 or later) to attend, but it’s super easy to get your dance party going when you’re ready for the job.

First, make sure that the Clips App is installed on your device. (I’m not very hip, so I removed it from my iPhone a while ago.) Second, make sure you’re using iOS 14.5. If not, or if you’re not sure, pull yours the settings App and visit General> Software update to start the upgrade.

Once you’ve updated to iOS 14.5 and started clips, tap the colorful star icon in the lower right corner to start the augmented reality scan. That sounds a lot wilder than it actually is. You simply move your phone around the room to capture everything it can see, including the floors, walls, and objects that might otherwise hinder your dance moves. You will be asked to check when you feel you have scanned enough. You can always check this by moving your phone and watching how this affects the holodeck-like pattern you are viewing.

After that, you can tap through the different filters to see what they look like. I like the “deadmau5 concert in my room” myself.

Unlike my example above, make sure you’ve scanned the blank space before you, your friends, or your pets come across it. Otherwise, their bodies will be viewed as an object that the augmented reality system must bypass. If they go away, you’ll have a topic-sized blob in your video that doesn’t look very good. (What can I say; the cat ate and did not move.)

Taking a shot is as easy as holding down the red record button when you’re happy with your AR effects. However, someone has to keep holding the button, which means your selfie camera will get stuck if you’re the only one capturing a creative video. However, feel free to make any mistakes you want; You can easily trim and share your video afterwards. You can also add additional camera-style effects – just no augmented reality effects.
