Legal analyst and television personality Midwin Charles died, her family confirmed on April 6 with a post on their Twitter account. She was 47 years old.
“It is with a deeply heavy heart and deepest sadness that we announce the untimely death of our beloved Midwin Charles,” said the post. “She was known to many as a legal commentator on television, but to us she was a devoted daughter, sister, aunt, niece and cousin. Our lives are forever changed and we will miss her for life. The family thanks you in advance Your love and prayers. Please allow time for the family to grieve. “
No cause of death was given.
Midwin, a Syracuse University graduate with a law degree from American University, founded the New York law firm Midwin Charles & Associates. In addition to her television appearances on programs such as CNN, MSNBC and The Wendy Williams Show, she was a contributor to Essence magazine.
Midwin’s co-workers and friends came out on social media to express their grief.
