It’s safe to say that Maggie and Negan never become friends.

At the premiere of The Walking Dead on August 22nd, fans watched Negan (played by Jeffrey Dean Morgan) left Maggie (Lauren Cohan) to fend for themselves when a horde of Walkers collapsed on their group in a subway tunnel. It was a move that came after the perhaps not-so-reformed villain challenged Maggie’s leadership decisions and accused her of being too preoccupied with his presence.

“We’re down here because there’s death up there,” she snapped in response in the new episode. “We’re moving fast because our children are starving, and I’m in charge because everyone voted that way.”

But Maggie went on to prove Negan’s point by pulling a gun at him and saying, “About you? It’s always on my mind.”

Which is understandable given that Negan is the baseball-wielding villain, Maggie’s husband Glenn (Steven Yeun) to death in the premiere of the seventh season. Since then, Negan has done a fair number of things to get into the gang’s favor, including killing Alpha (Samantha Morton) in season 10.
