Some Meghan Markle‘s high profile friends support her efforts to help women strengthen their financial status.
In honor of her 40th birthday on Wednesday August 4th, the Duchess of Sussex posted a video on her Archewell Foundation’s website in which she and Melissa McCarthy. The clip urged fans and supporters to join her – along with the 40 friends she had chosen – to donate 40 minutes of their time to “support a woman who is mobilizing back into the workforce”.
The Suits alum also added a written message about the 40×40 project, which partially read, “I believe mentoring is a way to help women regain confidence and rebuild their economic strength, and I have 40 friends for my birthday , Activists, athletes, artists and world leaders to start a global effort by contributing 40 MINUTES of MENTORSHIP to help women re-enter the world of work. “
Meghan continued, “I hope that with this time each of them is helping someone advance a professional life on their own terms, and I hope that they inspire countless others to devote 40 minutes of their time as well.”
