On Monday, May 24th, the former NFL player gave fans an update on his 8-year-old son’s health TJAccording to Greg, he has had serious heart problems since he was born. He previously stated that TJ was born with a “complex, critical congenital heart defect” called hypoplastic left heart syndrome.
TJ has already undergone three open heart surgeries in his life and survived with a modified heart, he said.
“The past week was an extraordinary challenge for our family,” wrote the athlete on Instagram. “Unfortunately, his heart seems to be nearing its end. We are currently working on the process to determine our next steps that could ultimately lead to a heart transplant.”
The former Carolina Panthers star shared, “We don’t know how long we’ll be inside these hospital walls. We know we are in full control of our attitudes and views.”
