In September we start shutting down our garden for the year, but there is still time to plant vegetables now to enjoy later in the fall. Depending on where you live, the vegetables you can plant now will vary – but even in the colder areas there are more options than you may be aware of. Some are fast growing vegetables while some others should be planted as soon as possible for later enjoyment.

These vegetables make a good fall harvest for any continental US

In Zones 3-10Which includes all of the continental United States, vegetables to plant in September include lettuce, radishes, and garlic. For radishes and lettuce, choose the fast growing varieties, while garlic is a crop that you need to plant now to enjoy in spring. And if you’re in the mood for berries, planting blueberry bushes in the fall is a great way to encourage healthy root development and encourage growth in early spring.

For slightly cooler areas

Spinach is also one good autumn harvest for planting, although it does require slightly cooler temperatures, which makes it suitable for Zones 3-9. Basically, spinach is a great option to plant in September, as long as you don’t live in certain parts of South Florida, Texas, California, or Arizona.

For slightly warmer areas

If you live in zones 5-9, which encompasses most of the continental United States with the exception of certain parts of the northern states, then Broccoli makes for a good autumn harvest– and one that you can pick well into November. You just want to make sure you choose a faster growing strain like Calabrese or Early Purple Sprouting.

A more detailed map and a planting plan for your state can be found at Urban Harvest Information for all continental countries. For information about fall fruits that grow well in Hawaii, you can go to a monthly planting plan here; however, in Alaska, September is a little too chilly to plant vegetables.

Singapore’s Shopee is altering the sport in Brazil’s e-commerce sector, Cash Information

0

It took Sea Ltd’s Shopee just two years to become Brazil’s most downloaded shopping app and use its groundbreaking approach to e-commerce to attract users to its low-cost marketplace: in-app mini-games that offer coupons to winners.

The Singapore-based company has combined online shopping with the gaming nous of its separate mobile game arm Garena – creator of “Free Fire,” Brazil’s most downloaded title for eight consecutive quarters – to attract sales analysts who account for nearly a third of the local masters are appreciated magazine Luiza SA.

At home, it took Shopee just five years to become the most visited e-commerce website in Southeast Asia, overtaking Lazada, backed by China’s Alibaba Group Holding Ltd, and Tokopedia, backed by Japan’s SoftBank Group Corp.

“Shopee has a track record in Southeast Asia of getting to market late, seeing how others have solved existing problems, and then building a system to bypass those problems,” said analyst Jianggan Li of consulting firm Momentum Works.

Shopee’s early rise underscores the space that overseas entrants have to grow in a sector that was once dominated by regional companies like Luiza magazine and Argentine MercadoLibre Inc.

Of course, the startup’s timing was random, kicking off in Brazil when the Covid-19 pandemic drove consumers away from physical stores and boosted e-commerce sales by 44 percent to $ 42 billion ($ 57 billion) in 2020 , showed data from Brazilian payment company EBANX.

Shopee – similar to Alibaba’s AliExpress, which has bells and whistles made in China – has developed into Brazil’s top app in terms of downloads and usage time, according to data from the analysis platform App Annie.

However, in the pursuit of growth, Shopee is still losing money, backed by Sea’s profitable gaming division. For the second quarter of this year, Garena posted adjusted earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization (EBITDA) of $ 740.9 million, despite the e-commerce division losing $ 579.8 million.

“Money generated by a side of the business that is a cash cow is being aggressively reinvested in Brazilian e-commerce – with success,” said Thiago Macruz, analyst at Itau BBA.

Global ambition

Sea’s foray into Brazil is just one element of its global ambitions. Investment arm Sea Capital is also considering investing money in startups in Latin America and beyond, said one knowledgeable person who was not allowed to speak to the media and therefore declined to be identified.

The company has also brought Shopee to Chile, Colombia, and Mexico, where it doesn’t have a local workforce unlike Brazil, so has partnered with social media influencers to increase brand awareness, said two people familiar with the matter .

Sea, whose shareholders include the Chinese gaming market leader Tencent Holdings Ltd, declined to comment.

The company has released little data on Shopee Brazil, but analysts at Itau BBA estimated the value of goods and services sold on the platform at reais 12 billion (S $ 3.11 billion) last year.

The average price on its marketplace is 40 reais, other estimates have shown that it is less than a third of the price of the leading e-commerce marketplace MercadoLibre, which often offers higher-quality branded products.

Seas’s biggest challenge for Shopee Brazil is delivering to such a large country. It reduced its reliance on the local postal system in favor of private transportation this year, but still competes with competitors with proprietary delivery services.

Shopee aims to have one major logistics partner per country in the region, a company source told Reuters.

The company itself expects e-commerce growth in the region to generate more delivery partnerships, as it did in Southeast Asia, Sea executives said on a phone call this month.

In the same conversation, Group Chief Corporate Officer Yanjun Wang described Brazil as “a good market for continuous investment”.

Local sellers

Competition in Latin America’s largest economy intensified this month when Shopee’s closest rival in terms of product offering, AliExpress, opened its marketplace to domestic sellers who charge single-digit commission. AliExpress has been in Brazil for 11 years; Shopee did a similar thing after his freshman year.

Small business owner Luciana Carvalho started selling plastic packaging products on Shopee in February, attracted by the free shipping and 6 percent commission – compared to 17 percent on MercadoLibre.

“It’s easy to sign up, calculate your commission, get your delivery labels and receipts. It makes us invest more in the platform,” she said.

[[nid:539683]]

In a move toward profitability, Shopee has since increased commission to 18 percent – as much as double what marketplaces in some Southeast Asian countries can charge, indicating Latin America’s potential profit margins. Carvalho continues to use Shopee but prefers MercadoLibre for its “unbeatable” delivery.

To further improve profitability, Goldman Sachs analysts said Shopee could start selling higher-priced items, as it did in Southeast Asia. Momentum Works’ Li expects Shopee to add financial services to its Brazil app, just like in Indonesia.

“I wouldn’t be surprised” if they reached number one, Li said, “given what they have done in Singapore, Indonesia and Malaysia, Thailand.”

Last week the Supreme Court did dejected the recent extension of the eviction moratorium by the CDC, which should last until October 3rd. That means millions of tenants are now at risk of evictions, although some states still have their own eviction bans and rental assistance is available – despite a delay in adoption. in many states. Here’s a closer look at your options if you’re threatened with eviction or otherwise unable to afford your rent.

What happened to the federal eviction moratorium?

Following the proposal that the CDC Exceeding its powers in June, the Supreme Court has revoked the agency’s recent extension with immediate effect. The majority say the CDC relies on “a decade-old law that empowers it to carry out measures such as fumigation and pest control.” The ruling suggested that a federal ban be approved by Congress instead.

Some states still have their own eviction moratoriums

In the following states there are either eviction bans or gradual easing of eviction bans, which extend into September:

  • California: There is no eviction until September 30th. The legal news site Nolo has a list of cities and towns that are also restricted here. There is also a ban on utility shutdowns due to Non-payment until at least September 30th, 2021 for most utilities.
  • Washington, DC: The mayor has adopted a step-by-step approach that will allow evictions due to non-payment as early as October 12th. Landlords can file evictions of any kind from January 1, 2022 found here.
  • Illinois: Governor Pritzker has expanded the existing eviction moratorium until September 18, 2021.
  • Minnesota: Minnesota renters who are not eligible for emergency rental assistance are protected from eviction until September 12th. However, tenants with a pending application for state rent allowance cannot be evicted until June 2022. for GOBanking rates.
  • Nevada: Tenants can Delay eviction by providing evidence that they have applied for rental allowance.
  • New Jersey: Tenants are protected from eviction and eviction court proceedings until December 31, 2021, provided that their annual household income is below 80% of the median income of their district.
  • New Mexico: The state’s Supreme Court has one temporary moratorium on evictions already exists, with no end date at this point in time.
  • New York: The existing state moratorium on eviction bans expires today, but with an extension until the end of the year is being worked on.
  • Oregon: For NOLO, landlords must wait 60 days before filing an eviction if the tenant provides documents showing they have applied for rental allowance.
  • Washington: Earlier this summer, Governor Jay Inslee announced a “bridge” extension of an existing government moratorium, effective until September 30th.

Don’t forget about the rental assistance programs

Despite the fact that it was founded at the start of the pandemic, the $ 46.5 billion emergency aid program spent on rent only 11% of its funds. according to the New York Times. While the federal government provides the financing, the states are responsible for the actual distribution of the rental subsidies, and they are slow to do so, with delays due to a lack of staff and overly strict documentation requirements.

Fortunately, access to rental assistance is slowly improving. If you haven’t already, check out the new version of the National Low Income Housing Coalition Emergency Rental Assistance Dashboardthat you can use to search for rental services in your area. The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau also has a good guide for renters who cannot afford their rent here. For free legal assistance related to evictions, contact either LawHelp.org or the Legal services company.

US stock futures were higher in early morning trading Wednesday after the S&P 500 posted a seven-month profit streak in August.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average futures rose 143 points. The S&P 500 and Nasdaq 100 futures both traded in positive territory as well.

In Tuesday’s regular trading session, the Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 39.11 points, or 0.11%, to close at 35,360.73. The S&P 500 was down 0.13% and the Nasdaq Composite was down 0.04%.

The most important averages all finished higher in August. The S&P 500 rose 2.9% for the month, up for the seventh month in a row. The Nasdaq Composite was up roughly 4% and while the Dow lagged it was still up 1.2%.

Some strategists are on the lookout for a correction in September as stocks haven’t seen a significant correction since last October combined with the highly anticipated September Federal Reserve Bank meeting and ongoing concerns over the Delta-Covid variant.

“While that bull market laughed at almost all of the worrying signs in 2021, let’s not forget that September is historically the worst month of the year for stocks,” said Ryan Detrick, LPL Financial’s chief market strategist. “Even last year, in the face of a huge rally from the March 2020 lows, we saw a correction of nearly 10% in mid-September.”

CNBC Pro’s Stock Picks and Investment Trends:

He added that any weakness could be short-term and could be in the 5-8% range.

“This bull market is alive and well and we would see any potential weakness as an opportunity,” he said.

Investors are focusing on August US payroll data due to be released later this week for a glimpse into the possible path of Fed monetary policy. Dow Jones economists estimate that 750,000 jobs were created in August and the unemployment rate has fallen to 5.2%.

Campbell Soup is expected to report on the earnings before the bell Wednesday. Brown-Forman will report after the bell.

Britney Spears’ legal professional beats up Jamie’s “shameful try” at redemption

Will Covid Vaccines Develop into Much less Efficient?

Covid-19 vaccines are still “amazingly effective,” experts said, despite fears that immunity could wane over time.

There have been some concerns about the effectiveness of Covid-19 vaccines after a number of new studies suggested a growing number of so-called “breakthrough” covid cases among those fully vaccinated. However, the studies have shown that those who are fully vaccinated are still very well protected from serious infections, hospitalizations, and deaths from the virus.

Preliminary data released by the Israeli government in July showed that the Pfizer vaccine was only 16% effective against symptomatic infections in people who received two doses in January. In people fully vaccinated by April, the vaccine was 79% effective against symptomatic infections, suggesting that the immunity gained from immunization decreases over time.

A Pfizer-funded study published in July showed that the Pfizer BioNTech vaccine was most effective between one week and two months after receiving the second dose, at 96.2%. After that, however, it decreased by an average of 6% every two months. Four to six months after a second dose, the effectiveness dropped to about 84%.

In August, a UK study of more than a million fully vaccinated people found that protection from both the Oxford-AstraZeneca and Pfizer BioNTech vaccines deteriorated over time. One month after receiving a second dose of the Pfizer vaccine, the protection against the virus was 88%, the analysis showed. After five to six months, this protection dropped to 74%.

Protection was 77% monthly after full vaccination with the Oxford AstraZeneca vaccine and decreased to 67% after four to five months.

Lessons from Israel

In late July, Israel began offering a third dose of vaccine to anyone over 60 years of age. The booster program expanded rapidly, and third syringes have been available to everyone over 30 in the country since August.

Professor Eyal Leshem, an infectious disease specialist at Sheba Medical Center who treats Covid patients in Israel, told CNBC that although the number of cases has increased despite a high vaccination rate, the rate of serious illnesses in the country has remained “significantly lower” may be.

“We attribute this to the fact that most of our adult population have been vaccinated with two doses and more than a million people have received the third booster dose,” he said on a phone call.

“Serious disease rates among those who were vaccinated are about a tenth of those among those who have not been vaccinated, which means the vaccine is still over 90% effective in preventing serious illnesses,” added Leshem. “People who received the booster dose also have a much, much lower risk of getting infected, as our short-term data shows.”

Richard Reithinger, infectious disease expert and vice president of global health at RTI International, based in the US, told CNBC in an email that most of the vaccines developed against Covid-19 “were just mind-boggling, even with the emerging variants “.

“Undeniable evidence of this is that cases, serious illnesses that required hospitalization, and deaths in countries that have rapidly increased vaccination rates have all decreased dramatically,” he said.

“In countries with very high vaccination coverage, such as Iceland with more than 90%, hardly any serious cases and deaths are reported. Similarly, in countries with medium to high immunization coverage, such as the United States and Canada, severe cases and deaths are seen almost exclusively in the unvaccinated. “

Delta effect

An earlier UK study published in May found the Pfizer BioNTech vaccine was 88% effective in preventing symptomatic disease caused by the Delta variant. Against the alpha variant, once the dominant strain in the UK, the vaccine was 93% effective in preventing symptomatic diseases.

Meanwhile, research found that two doses of the Oxford-AstraZeneca vaccine were 60% effective in preventing symptomatic disease from the Delta variant, compared to a 66% effectiveness rate versus the Alpha variant.

The data showed the importance of two doses of these vaccines, as the effectiveness of both vaccinations against symptomatic infections from the Delta variant was only 33% three weeks after the first dose, the study found.

Reithinger told CNBC that another mutation in the virus doesn’t necessarily mean it becomes more resistant to existing vaccines.

“The delta variant has been shown to be more transmissible than other variants and the vaccine effectiveness is slightly lower than the alpha and beta variants. The kappa variant that was created around the same time in India is not so transferrable, ”he emphasized.

Are booster shots the solution?

Several more countries, including the US and UK, are now offering or planning to offer third doses of Covid-19 vaccines to help boost immunity to the potentially depleted virus.

According to Gideon Schreiber, a professor at Israel’s Weizmann Institute of Science, booster injections could become a necessity.

“Unfortunately it isn’t even [going to be] “The virus has huge potential for new varieties, many of which will help silence immunity – so there is a chance we may need more boosters in the future.”

Schreiber added that Israel’s booster program has been a great success so far. After a second dose, he told CNBC, the likelihood of developing Covid was four or five times less likely. But after a third dose, the chances of getting seriously ill with the virus were more than ten times less.

However, Reithinger argued that booster shots weren’t necessarily a logical move at this point.

“There is limited data that an immune response triggered by available vaccines wears off after six to eight months,” he told CNBC via email. “Most of the data relate to infections, not hospitalizations or deaths. The data also does not take into account the use of non-pharmaceutical measures such as masking and social distancing, which should continue to be used and followed in many contexts. The only populations for which a booster can be argued are the immunocompromised. “

However, he said a booster dose may eventually become necessary when data shows the vaccine’s effectiveness against serious illness and death over time.

Hope for treatment?

Schreiber is currently overseeing research into a therapeutic drug that is supposed to act as a “supercork” and physically wedges itself in cell receptors to which the virus attaches. By working to block the cells’ “entry ports” rather than attacking the virus itself, the scientists hope to keep an eye on future mutations.

“It should work against future variants because it doesn’t really track the virus – the virus can change, but as long as the virus attaches to it, it will block it,” he told CNBC.

However, Schreiber said the drug could not be used on a large scale.

“It’s too expensive and there is no need,” he said. “I see it as being given to people who have Covid and who belong to a high-risk group. It also has no long-term effects like a vaccine.”

The Sheba Medical Center’s Leshem argued that vaccinations are currently society’s best hope of finding a state of “equilibrium” with the virus in which the virus can circulate without serious effects.

“The best hope for people at risk is immunization, an effective vaccine we have right now that can be improved by boosting, mixing, or other methods,” he said.

“Despite very [intense] Research makes it very difficult to find effective treatments – viruses are not bacteria. So while we have developed good antibiotics that have dramatically changed the course of bacterial infections, we don’t have such good antivirals for many of the viruses that infect humans. “

In addition to vaccines, pharmaceutical companies are also looking for new treatment methods to prevent Covid. In mid-August, AstraZeneca published results of a phase 3 study of an antibody therapy that reduced the risk of symptomatic Covid-19 disease by 77%. There were no deaths or cases of serious illness among the 25 participants who became infected with symptomatic Covid during the study. A total of 5,172 people took part in the study, 75% of whom suffered from comorbidities.

Reuters reported that AstraZeneca is seeking conditional approval for the therapy in key markets this year. The pharmaceutical giant will produce 1 to 2 million doses by the end of this year, the news agency said.

“I really think we really need a drug,” Schreiber told CNBC. “There is a lot of drug development effort going on, there is no reason not to believe it won’t come in the near future. It will come and this will basically end history.”

He added, “The virus continues to mutate – new varieties will come, but the rate of technological advances is truly amazing. So I say there is no need to despair. “

What to Anticipate When You Cease Vaping

0

The FDA cracked down on flavourful single-use vapes last year, and while you can still find puff bars and their counterparts all over the place, the chances are you’re getting a sketchy fake. The secret of what’s in the fakes makes them even more dangerous than the original nicotine dispensers, which weren’t that great for you in the first place. It might be time to quit, so here’s what to expect.

You will never find the perfect time to quit

“There’s no good time to do this,” said Robert S., a 30-year-old who started vaping four years ago to quit, but smoked again to stop vaping. “It’s like a band-aid. You just have to tear it off and do it. “

Robert eventually quit because he was annoyed that he couldn’t play with his four-year-old niece without it getting on his nerves.

“I was tired of being so dependent on an alien substance to continue my daily life,” he said, remembering that he had met his Juul “anytime”, no matter where he was or what he was doing. “I see a lot of teenage people smoking these vapes and they can’t work without them and it’s really sad to see.”

He said that before he quit he felt “tied up” like there was nowhere to go without his portable device. When he switched to his Juul and disposable items, he even noticed physical problems that he didn’t have with the cigarettes: migraines and mouth sores.

You will have mental changes

Clarity can come with quitting, but you can also be an irritated mess for a while. Withdrawal symptoms are known by this point, but expect anxiety, depression, and a smelly attitude.

However, try to think positively. Focus on how good what you do is for yourself, how good it is for your family, or how much money you will save. It gets hard, especially when the desire is strong, but it is necessary.

Therefore, do not turn yourself on your head if you take an unscrupulous train here and there. This may not be linear. You could start and stop repeatedly; a lot of people do. These little devices are designed to be hard to quit, not just because of the nicotine they contain, but because they give you so much more: flavors, something to do with your hands and mouth, an excuse to leave a room leave that you didn’t want to be there, etc. Saying goodbye to all of this is not an easy task. This is a mental challenge as well as a physical one. But about that …

You will notice physical changes

Robert said he craved a great deal of sugar after quitting, which is reflected in online forums. (More on that later.) You will likely be overly hungry for a period of time, and you may experience a little constipation. Rough but true!

Aside from a sudden interest in sweet foods, there were other physical changes that Robert noticed immediately and even more over time.

“I’ve noticed my skin is returning to its normal color,” he said. “About a month later, I didn’t spit out phlegm every morning. Finally, after about two months, I had little or no breathlessness. “

Look in the mirror. Is your skin an unusual color? If so, did you even notice? This is a little alarming and another side effect of vaping that is often discussed on forums. OK; now is the time to talk about it.

You need a support system

It’s easier to do difficult things when you have someone by your side, especially someone who understands what you’re going through. the Quit the vaping subreddit has 6,000+ members so you can start there.

Also, tell your friends and family what you are up to. They can help you hold yourself accountable by calling you out when you are trying to make a move. Also, if you’re irritable or experiencing food cravings, it’s best to do some research on why you might be ‘tude-y’.

You will prop yourself up on a pair of crutches

Robert said he wouldn’t have gotten this far in quitting without the nicotine patches and coffee. Listen, you may not like the idea of replacing one habit with another, but if you need to, you may have to consider it first.

When it comes to the nicotine, patches are helpful. If you like the sweet, fruity taste or have a little oral fixation, try sugar-free hard candies or flavored seltzer. If you like to have something in hand to play with, take a look in fidget toys or Fear rings.

You will be happy that you did that

As hard as the journey may be, the reward is great – in the truest sense of the word. For starters, you are about to start saving money seriously. Disposable vapes are expensive, as are the e-liquid you can buy for longer-term devices. (Put the $ 10 or so dollars you would have spent on a disposable item in a glass every time you feel the urge to buy one. Channel your cravings into a money-saving technique and pamper yourself after you get one have spent a certain amount of time outside the Juul.)

You will be healthier, breathe better, and generally be in a better place. Keep this end goal in mind and trust that you can do it.

The perfect issues to know in Chrome 93

Image for the article titled The Best Things to Know in Chrome 93

Google Chrome version 93 has just launched for desktop and Android. These monthly updates can bring developers a mix of new features, tweaks, and changes, but version 93 also offers users several noteworthy enhancements, including improvements to Chrome Web Apps on the desktop, changes to the Android app’s user interface, helpful crosses device security options and more.

We’ll discuss all of the new features below, but if you’d like to download the Chrome 93 update now, here’s how (the same steps work on Android and desktop):

  1. Click or tap the three-dot menu at the top right of the browser window.
  2. Go to Settings> About Google Chrome to see if the update is ready to download.
  3. When it’s done, run the update, close the browser and restart it.

You can also get the latest version from the Google Chrome download page. Now for the novelties …

Desktop: Web apps can now be launched from URL links and support multi-screen devices.

Chrome 93 offers two new web app features for desktop users.

First, opening external web apps via URL links is now seamless. When this feature is enabled, clicking a link in Chrome will open the web app if it is installed on your device.

G / O Media can receive a commission

For example, if you have the YouTube PWA with Chromewhen you click a YouTube hyperlink, the video will open in the PWA instead of a new Chrome tab. This won’t work for every web app as the developers will have to implement the feature themselves, but it will be a helpful change for the apps that support them. It’s also turned off by default and needs to be turned on by changing some settings in Chrome’s experimental flags menu:

  1. Open Chrome and go to chrome: // flags / # enable-desktop-pwas-url-handling
  2. Choose “Enables” from the drop down menu.
  3. Restart Chrome when prompted.

The other new feature is Multi-screen and multi-window support for web apps. This feature also requires a developer implementation, but Google predicts it would be useful for many types of web apps including:

  • Multi-window graphic editors à la Gimp can place various editing tools in precisely positioned windows.
  • Virtual trading desks can display market trends in multiple windows, each of which can be viewed in full screen mode.
  • Slideshow apps can display speaker notes on the internal main screen and the presentation on an external projector.

These apps can now open multiple windows on one display or multiple displays at the same time, which should be a significant improvement for users with multiple displays.

Cross-device two-factor SMS synchronization

Starting with version 93, Chrome now automatically detects and synchronizes SMS login codes for two-factor authentication if you are logged into your Google account on multiple devices – at least for the websites that support it. This also requires a developer implementation, but it is likely that more websites and services will support two-factor synchronization in the future. Until then, you can see how the feature works with it Mock-up test page Google created.

Android: New Google Search UI and stuff you need for Android 12. support

Chrome 93 also brings some UI changes to the Chrome Android app.

First, the recently revised continuous results feed for Google search results has been refined. The new design was originally added to Android in Chrome 91 as an experimental test that lets you open and switch between pages using a scroll bar at the top of the Chrome window. The bar scrolls continuously through the search results, so you can quickly jump between pages.

Chrome 93 makes the cards easier to read and supposedly more responsive than their original implementation. However, to activate the new search results bar, you’ll still need to browse the experimental flags menu:

  1. In the Chrome Android app, go to chrome: // flags # continuous-search
  2. Enable the setting from the drop-down menu.
  3. Restart the app when prompted.
  4. After restarting the app, do a Google search.
  5. Select a website from the results. The new navigation bar for Continuous Search appears at the top of the search results.

Chrome 93 also includes support for Android 12’s Material You interface for Chrome Mobile, albeit as an additional experimental feature.

The Material You feature changes the UI for supported Android 12 apps based on your phone’s background and will likely be a standard feature in Chrome for all Android 12 devices once the new OS update is released in the coming months. For now, however, you’ll need the Android 12 beta. From there, enable the feature in Chrome’s experimental flags:

  1. Open the Chrome app and go to chrome: // flags # dynamic-color-android
  2. Choose “Enables” from the drop down menu.
  3. Restart the app for the changes to take effect.
  4. At the top of the feed, tap any of the URL info cards to open the page and scroll left or right for more options

These are the major changes for general users in Chrome 93, but developers can think about a lot more. You can read all of this in Release notes of the update.

Baby siblings earn 1000’s per thirty days mining crypto like Bitcoin, ETH

0

14-year-old Ishaan Thakur and his sister, 9-year-old Aanya, spent their summer building a lucrative cryptocurrency mining business.

“We started because we wanted to learn something new about technology – and make some money in the process,” Ishaan told CNBC Make It.

And you have.

Each month, the siblings earn over $ 30,000 by mining three digital coins: Bitcoin, the largest cryptocurrency by market value; Ether, the second largest; and Ravencoin, an altcoin in the top 100, says Ishaan.

To do this, Ishaan and Aanya, who live in Frisco, Texas, had to learn to mine, which is not an easy task. When mining to earn cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin and Ether, complex computers are programmed to compete to solve difficult puzzles to validate transactions.

“Crypto mining is like mining gold or diamonds,” says Ishaan. “Instead of using shovels, mine with computers. Instead of finding a piece of gold or a diamond in the mine, find a cryptocurrency.”

After watching videos on YouTube and searching the internet, Ishaan converted his Alienware, a popular type of gaming computer, into an ether mining rig in April. (He did this by using the graphics card, which can do a high volume of calculations for mining.)

His parents supported him: “We could have spent the whole summer playing video games, but instead we used our free time to learn about technology,” says Ishaan.

The siblings started with Ether, because Bitcoin mining can be particularly difficult. With its limited supply and increasing demand, bitcoin mining competition can be more intense.

On her first day, “I made $ 3,” says Ishaan.

To make the business official, Ishaan and Aanya founded

“We liked it so much that we started adding more processors [or chips], and made $ 1,000 in our first month in May, “says Ishaan.

The siblings’ income continued to grow, and in late July they were able to afford to buy devices like the Antminer and Nvidia RTX 3080-Ti graphics cards to start mining Bitcoin and Ravencoin as well. When they decided to mine, they chose Ravencoin because the equipment they had was “optimal” for mining, says Raj.

Overall, based on the equipment currently ordered, they expect to make around $ 36,000 in September, says Raj.

“We can process a little more than 10 billion Ethereum algorithms per second alone,” says Ishaan.

Although Ishaan and Aanya were successful, the process is far from easy.

Besides being very complicated, mining is certainly not cheap because it requires expensive equipment, a lot of energy, and computer power.

Ishaan and Aanya, for example, have over 97 processors that their father, Raj, a former investment banker, financed with a loan.

Raj declined to disclose the exact loan amount. However, the global shortage of computer chips made it difficult to find devices and led to high prices.

Ishaan and Aanya primarily use Nvidia RTX 3090 graphics cards, Ishaan says, and each card alone can cost anywhere from $ 2,500 to $ 3,000.

Although the home siblings say they use “100% renewable energy for our mining” because “we want to be green,” they also rent a data center in Dallas, Texas. Overall, the electricity bill for both her home and data center costs just under $ 3,000 per month, Ishaan says.

“We moved from my desk to the garage because the house was getting too hot and too loud. [W]e grew out of the garage because the heat and noise were too much for the garage, too, ”says Ishaan. “We now only use the garage to build and test mining rigs. When they’re done, we’ll move them to a professional, air-conditioned data center in downtown Dallas. “

Ishaan and Aanya were able to “expand” their school operations over the summer break, but hope to expand their business further and bring it in line with the school.

When her friends ask: “I’m just telling them that we only dismantle in the garage,” says Aanya.

With their profits, they want to reinvest in their business. But “hopefully the profits from our mining business” [also] pay our college fees, “says Ishaan.

Ishaan hopes to attend the University of Pennsylvania, he says. There he would like to study medicine and become a doctor. Aanya also wants to study medicine, but wants to attend New York University instead.

You have a few more years to save, however – after all, Ishaan is just a freshman in high school and Aanya is a fourth grader in elementary school.
