Inventory futures fall as tech sell-off continues, Tesla and Apple shares fall

FAANG shares are listed on the Nasdaq.

Adam Jeffery | CNBC

Stock futures fell Tuesday as investors continued to drop technology stocks.

The futures for the tech-heavy Nasdaq-100 lost 1.3%. S&P 500 futures traded 0.8% lower while the Dow-linked futures fell 195 points.

Big Tech stocks were again in the red on Tuesday. Facebook, Apple and Amazon lost more than 1.5% in premarket retail.

Tesla shares fell nearly 4% in premarket trading as Reuters reported that the electric car maker and growth had halted plans to expand its Shanghai plant into an export hub.

Big tech was overwhelmed on Monday as investors left stocks like Apple and Microsoft, pulling the Dow Jones Industrial Average and S&P 500 from record highs. Both stocks lost at least 2% at the start of the week.

The Nasdaq Composite suffered from poorer sales and fell 2.5%. With that, he ended the day at his session low on Monday. Facebook lost more than 4% while Amazon and Netflix both fell over 3%. Alphabet fell more than 2% after being downgraded by Citigroup. Cathie Wood’s Ark Innovation ETF fell 5% to its lowest level since November when Tesla, its top position, lost more than 6%.

The ARK Innovation ETF lost another 3% in premarket trading on Tuesday.

The market was split in May, with the Nasdaq Composite down 4% and the Dow 2.5% as investors move away from relatively high-valued growth stocks to value stocks on the back of the economy reopening due to the pandemic and higher inflation will benefit.

The Technology Select SPDR (XLK) was down 3% in May, the worst of any market sector. The XLK fell another 1.3% on the Tuesday before trading.

The broader S&P 500 managed to barely stay in the green in May amid this market rotation, but it may lose that profit if tech sales rise and value stocks persist.

The Simon Property Group recorded a price decline of around 3% on the pre-market, despite better-than-expected figures. The property manager reported earnings of $ 1.36 per share on revenue of $ 1.15 billion for the first quarter.

Electronic Arts, Chesapeake Energy, Hanesbrands and Palantir Technologies will deliver results on Tuesday.

The Ministry of Labor will release the latest results of its survey on job vacancies and turnover on Tuesday. Several senior officials from the Federal Reserve, including Governor Lael Brainard and New York Fed President John Williams, are also due to make comments.

As India grapples with a deadly second wave of coronavirus, authorities have warned of a rare fungal infection that can be maimed or even fatal if not cared for.

Multiple media reports say doctors in the country are reporting cases of mucormycosis, informally known as “black fungus,” in the recovery or recovery of Covid-19 patients in states like Maharashtra and Gujarat, as well as Delhi.

What is it?

Mucormycosis is a “serious but rare fungal infection caused by a group of molds called mucormycetes,” according to the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. It most commonly affects the sinuses or lungs after inhaling fungal spores from the air, but it can also appear after an injury to the skin or, in some cases, affect the brain, according to the CDC.

The infection is more common in people who have underlying health problems or are taking medications that affect their body’s ability to fight germs. Researchers studying previous murcormyscosis infections in India found that diabetes was the most common underlying disease, occurring in 54% to 76% of cases.

While the infection is treatable, the CDC estimates a death rate of around 50%, but this varies depending on the underlying conditions, the type of fungus, and the area of the body affected.

However, the Indian State Council for Medical Research (ICMR) said that patients who have been in intensive care units for long periods of time or are immunocompromised due to steroids may also be at risk.

Many severe Covid-19 patients in India are treated with corticosteroids such as dexamethasone, an anti-inflammatory drug that also decreases the immune system’s ability to fight infections and other diseases to relieve symptoms and make them more susceptible.

A government official reportedly said last week that there is “no major outbreak” of the fungal infection in India.

What are the symptoms?

The ICMR issued a notice over the weekend urging doctors and patients to look out for early symptoms.

These include nasal congestion and discharge, unilateral facial pain, numbness or swelling, toothache and loosened teeth, blurred or double vision, redness around the eyes, fever, difficulty breathing and chest pain.

Treatment options include antifungal therapy, Reducing or stopping steroids and other drugs that suppress the immune system, while more severe cases, according to the ICMR, may require surgery to remove all necrotic tissues from the body.

If left untreated for too long, permanent damage such as vision loss and death can result.

Mucormycosis was already present in India before the Covid-19 pandemic began last year. Official data are scarce due to the lack of population-based studies, but some researchers estimate that the prevalence of mucormycosis in the country is about 70 times higher than in the rest of the world.

Vinyl Floors: The Most Popular Flooring Option In Singapore

Vinyl floors have become one of the most popular floor coverings in Singapore because of their low cost, water resistance, heat resistance and durability. No chopping is required when using this material as it comes in standard sizes that can be placed over existing floors, eliminating the need to chop your floor.

This material is also available in a variety of designs that are similar to both wood and natural stone, suitable for any type of interior design. Vinyl floors are also very easy to care for and do not require any special cleaning or polishing process. As more and more manufacturers produce this type of flooring, you can even find eco-friendly vinyl flooring material that has Green Mark product certification.

Laminate flooring: the best low-maintenance flooring

Like vinyl floors, laminate floors can be easily installed without chopping up the existing floor tiles. Laminate floors are usually supplied with a click system that can be easily connected to the laminate planks. The laminate consists of high-density fiberboard, which combines wood fibers and wood chips in addition to plastic to obtain a floor material that is even more durable and easy to care for compared to real wood floors.

Laminate floors use an advanced imaging process and offer a wide range of designs that resemble wood, tile, or natural stone.

However, if you choose laminate or vinyl flooring, the former is less resistant to moisture and is not a recommended material for bathrooms, kitchens, or rooms that are frequently exposed to excessive moisture.

Rubber Flooring: The easiest type of flooring to lay

This material is often associated with commercial interiors, industrial environments, gyms, and playgrounds. Rubber floors can be sleek and give the home a modern feel.

Because of its natural sturdiness and improved design, many homeowners are choosing to use rubber flooring in areas such as children’s playrooms, laundry rooms, lounges and bathrooms where functional requirements outweigh aesthetics.

Rubber flooring materials are supplied in slabs or tiles and in various thicknesses to withstand varying degrees of wear. However, this industrial grade material is not as cheap as most people think. The cost of rubber flooring can range from $ 10 to over $ 40, comparable to natural hardwood material.

Linoleum floor: The environmentally friendly floor covering

Linoleum flooring has been around for a long time, it is less well known as materials like vinyl and laminate are much more advanced in comparison. However, there are several advantages to using linoleum floors.

First, linoleum flooring is making a comeback due to its biodegradable quality. Linoleum is made from only natural materials, and environmentally conscious people choose to use this material over synthetic materials that can emit toxic gases or harm the environment.

Linoleum floors are also extremely durable, with unlimited style options, sizes and dimensions for easy installation. In terms of pricing, it’s also cheaper than vinyl or laminate.

Hardwood Floors: The Classic Flooring Option

Hardwood floors always look warm and classic. The woody texture simply cannot be reproduced by any other alternative flooring. This is also why parquet floors are more expensive compared to other floor coverings, but the cost is well worth it if you want to achieve a classic floor design.

The most common types of wood flooring materials used in Singapore are oak and teak due to their solid quality. However, due to their natural properties, they are less resistant to abrasion and age over time.

Traditionally, laying hardwood floors requires chopping up existing floor tiles and applying cement screed before laying the wood. However, some homeowners choose to overlay at their own risk. If you decide to use hardwood floors, it is a good idea to consult an expert before deciding on an option.

Cork floor: The most durable floor covering

old

Due to its soundproofing properties, cork floors are often used on the floors of churches and libraries, but they find their way into common living spaces due to their environmental friendliness and high durability.

Cork is made by stripping the bark from cork oaks, which are mainly grown in southern Europe. It is abrasion-resistant, easy to clean and has a cushioning effect when stepped on.

Cork floors are also a safe option as they can withstand extremely high temperatures and produce less smoke and toxic substances when burned.

Similar to vinyl floors and laminate floors, cork flooring is very affordable and offers a wide variety of designs, colors and textures to suit any aesthetic look. It’s also a good thermal insulator, which means that cork floors help regulate the heat in the room, a great option given Singapore’s tropical weather.

Are you ready to redesign your floor?

old

With all of the different floor tile options available, you are now better equipped to begin creating your home renovation plans. Refilling your floor can be fun and creative.

And you don’t have to limit yourself to just one material for all of your rooms. Consider a mix of texture and design to add value to the look of your home. This can even help you stay within your budget.

If the cost of covering your damaged floor tiles is your concern, here’s a budget-friendly tip: apply for a home renovation loan to ensure you have the funds to renovate your home.

You may also want to get home insurance to protect your home from possible damage. Finally, it’s always a good idea to use one of the best Singapore credit cards to make home payments to ensure you earn cashback and rewards!

Bongs can get pretty gross. After prolonged use, resin will start to build up and with the amount of mouth breathing you can imagine what is getting caught in the crevices. Cleaning a bong might seem difficult at first, but a little alcohol, salt, and a good shake will loosen and remove resin and dirt.

Take a quarter of a cup of both 99 percent isopropyl alcohol and rock salt (Dimensions vary for the size of your piece). Pour the solution into the bong, making sure all openings are covered, and shake it until the resin begins to loosen. Rinse and let dry before next use. You can also clean a Weed pipe with the same technique and solution in a Ziploc bag.

Easy methods to heat up earlier than a exercise

Easy methods to heat up earlier than a exercise

Lifting is as simple as an exercise: you pick the thing up and put it down. But that doesn’t mean you will go to the gym and just pick it up. A proper warm up can help you be prepared for your big lift. So let’s talk about how to build your best lifting routine.

But first let’s talk about expectations. People often talk about warm up exercises as if they magically prevent injury, or that skipping one injury would lead to another disaster. It is not necessarily true. They’re also not really going to do much for your chances of (or not) experiencing pain after your workout, either. If you’re comfortable walking straight from the front door to the squat rack, there’s no need to add any warm-up.

Why even one? Think of the warm up in preparation for the lift. Your muscles work better when they’re warm (like literally at a higher temperature). You also want to be ready to move around in any way the elevator requires. For example, if your ankles are stiff, they can bend more while squatting if you put them in motion.

You should choose the components of your warm up based on the help you need to prepare for your lift. So let’s discuss some of the options and when you could use them.

Cardio will warm you up and get you ready for work

Before lifting, many people like to hop on the treadmill, rowers, or maybe do a few jumping jacks for 5-10 minutes. A cardio warm-up like one of these offers several benefits:

G / O Media can receive a commission

  • It physically warms up your muscles
  • It gets at least some of your muscles and joints moving
  • It enables your energy systems to add extra strength to your muscles

Remember how when you run The first mile (or the first 10 minutes or so) feels sluggish? That’s because your body powers up these energy systems so you can use them more efficiently during the rest of the workout. If you need short rest periods while lifting – like a Crossfit-style WOD – this cardio warm-up is essential to keep the rest of the workout from sucking.

Cardio isn’t strictly necessary if all you want to do is exercise at your own pace, but the warmth and exercise can still help you feel better and act as a mental and physical introduction to the work you’re doing.

Mobility work makes you ready to move

We’re not (just) talking about stretching here. If you want to improve your flexibility through long, deep static stretches, it is best to save this after your workout. When you get ready to lift, you may want to do some mobility work instead.

Mobility in this context means being able to move in the way that your training requires. When you’re doing squats and your calves and ankles tend to be stiff and that stiffness is preventing you from getting crouch as low as you wantThen you should spend some time working your squats on your ankle mobility. (We have some concrete suggestions here.)

Apply the same principle to any exercise you plan. If you have trouble arching your back while doing the bench press, do some upper back mobility first (I like to lie on my back on a foam roller). If you want to take snapshots or squats, you may want to do some shoulder exercises, such as: the one where you put a pole over your head and behind your back with your arms straight. If you want to do power clean or front squats, you might want to put out your lats.

This phase is where Foam rollers and dynamic stretching can occur. Foam rolling can help loosen up a muscle, like a small massage. And dynamic stretches are warm-up movements that guide your joints through whatever range of motion you later ask them to do. Google “mobility work for ___” and you will get lots of ideas.

Ultimately, what you use in this section of the warm up should be what will best help you succeed later in the workout. Experiment with adding or removing things.

Activation exercises prepare your muscles

Sometimes it’s nice to do an exercise that uses all of the muscles that you use in the main workout, but with lighter weights or even via a completely different movement. For example, banded glute bridges can help you prepare for a workout that focuses on squats or hip bumps.

To be very clear, you don’t have to “activate” the muscles to use them later Loot tape suppliers I will try to convince you that this is an essential step. These exercises just give your muscles a preview of what they’re going to do in the main event and can help you go through your main lift warm-up sets (see below) a little faster.

Technical exercises will help you perfect your skills

Whenever you are performing a lift that requires precise technique, practice exercises that will help with that particular lift. Before I take snapshots, for example, I like to do exercises with only the bar: maybe a few hanging rags or squats over my head or great snapshots. Again, select exercises for this stage based on the technique you need to practice.

Finally: your warm-up begins

Now we’re actually doing the lift! Let’s say you are going to squat at 200 pounds today. Just because you’ve warmed up doesn’t mean you should load 200 pounds on the bar and get started.

Everything above was optional. The warm-up sets that most athletes and coaches would agree to are mandatory. You can actually replace most of the above steps (for a lot of people, for a lot of elevators) because doing enough warm-up sets will warm your body, move you through the required movements, activate your muscles, and practice the elevator technique, that you are about to do.

Start with that a set with the same number of repetitions They’ll do for your work sets or more. So if you want to do 5 reps at 200 pounds, start with a set of 5 to 10 reps with just one bar.

Then add some weight and then add a little more and then another until you reach the target weight for your first work set of the day. The exact weight increments are not important as long as you have several stops on the way to the work set for the day. So, for our 200 pound example, I could do 95 pounds, then 135, then 155, then 185, and then finally start working with 200. And I’d probably do 5 reps for each, except that on the lighter weights I might rather do more, like 10.

Put everything together

I like to think about warming up for lifting by combining my warm up sets (as described in the section above) and anything I need that my warm up sets don’t cover enough.

So, if you feel like you need more mobility work than warm-up kits alone can give you, you can walk to the gym, run for five minutes on the treadmill to warm up your legs, and then do foam rolls and ankle stretches before you start squatting . They didn’t do any technique or activation work, but that’s fine if you don’t feel like you need to.

Or if your mobility is okay but you’re planning a circuit-style workout and hate being out of breath between lifts, you can benefit from a more thorough cardio warm-up to make sure you’re ready for the fast Pace of training.

It’s okay if your warm-up for each workout is different or changes over time. Older athletes often find they need more warm-up time than they did when they were younger, and we all may need more warm-up time in cold weather than in hot weather. Find out what makes sense for you and build your warm up accordingly.

BEIJING – China’s once a decade census found that the national population of the mainland was 1.41 billion people as of November 1, 2020.

The average annual growth rate over the past 10 years has been 0.53%. This is evident from the results of the seventh census, which was published on Tuesday.

This is a decrease from an average annual growth rate of 0.57% between 2000 and 2010.

The population survey, carried out at the end of last year, was originally due to be published in April.

According to official data from the National Bureau of Statistics, mainland China’s population rose by 4.67 million in 2019 to just over 1.4 billion people.

A few years ago, the Chinese authorities began to reverse a decades-old “one-child policy” and allow people to have two children. However, births continued to decline, declining 15% for a fourth straight year in 2020.

Earlier this year, researchers from the People’s Bank of China released a paper calling for the full lifting of restrictions on childbirth. The paper also made other suggestions to encourage more births, and outlined how China’s aging population is economically disadvantaging the country versus the US and India.

Fungal and yeast infection-causing Germs can build up on the earbuds if you wedge them in your ear canals, not to mention wax visibly stuck to their surfaces. After sending out an earphone for analysis, Inside Edition even found pneumonia-causing bacteria like Staph aureus on regularly used earbuds, and one set showed evidence of nearly a million different cultures of bacteria. Part of this is scare-mongering, of course – some bacteria are fine, not to mention the inevitable ones. Still, our earbuds are rather gross.

What is the right way to clean them and how often should we do it? Let’s take a look.

How often should you clean earbuds?

Schedule cleaning of your earbuds as needed – this sounds easy, but it’s easy to forget. If you’re like most people, run, come back, and slide them right back into their protective tote bag to fester and breed more germs. However, health professionals recommend regular cleaning – like before, after, and after each use.

The ear, nose and throat specialist Dr. Darius Kohan said Inside Edition If they are not cleaned regularly: “You slide them in. They wrap the ear with wax. The germs on them – you will get infections. ”

In addition to cleaning them more often, Kohan recommends that over-the-ear switching between earbuds and headphones will help reduce exposure to germs.

G / O Media can receive a commission

The audiologist Dr. Arica Black repeated the same thing and told you local news network that it is preferred to clean the earbuds before each use. She also recommended cleaning them more often during the summer months, when you sweat more and conditions like “swimmer’s ear” are more common.

How to clean your earbuds

You can wipe your earbuds with regular disinfectant wipes. Just let them dry before putting them away. You might be concerned that common disinfectant fluids and wipes can damage the insides, but Apple has confirmed that using 70 percent isopropyl alcohol or disinfectant wipes on your AirPods is perfectly fine. They also warn of the possibility of liquid getting into the crevices and recommend drying AirPods with a lint-free microfiber cloth afterwards. You can find detailed instructions how to clean similar products like the AirPod Max headbands, pads and bags on their website.

Of course, not all earbuds come from Apple. So if you are concerned about specific considerations for your brand, you can contact your manufacturer for instructions. However, it is likely to be safe to assume that the same method will work. You can also use a small amount of regular hand sanitizer on a napkin or square of toilet paper instead of using a whole towel. In any case, just know that it is important to regularly disinfect and dry your earbuds before putting them away.

“It is a large deal” for America’s drive to reopen, says NIH director of Pfizer’s adolescent vaccine approval

The director of the National Institutes of Health, Dr. Francis Collins, called the Food and Drug Administration approval for emergency use of Pfizer and BioNTech’s Covid vaccine for children ages 12-15 as “a big deal” in America’s drive to reopen.

“This is exciting news,” said Collins. “We know that since this pandemic started, one and a half million teenagers have been infected with Covid-19, and not all have been as good as most. And some of them have ended up where they have been with this long Covid We are not doing any better , even weeks or months after the illness, so we really want to protect young people. “

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s Vaccine Advisory Board has scheduled a meeting on Wednesday to review recordings for children. If approved by the CDC as expected, it could be distributed to teens as early as this week.

More than 44% of all adults in the US are fully vaccinated, and according to the CDC, around 58% have now received at least one dose of the Covid vaccine. The White House aims to increase that number to 70% by July 4th.

Collins told CNBC’s “The News with Shepard Smith” that the US is “on a pretty good path” and that the nation should be able to see CDC regulations to relax indoor masks.

“It’s just about finding the right way to balance the desire not to create another wave. This is the last thing we need right now with the fact that people are really fed up with masks to wear, “said Collins.
