Promoted Deal: 2-Pack: Juku STEAM Coding Kits | $29 | SideDeal | Promo Code KINJUKU

STEAM is so important for kids to learn and be enthusiastic about, especially girls interested in the science and tech parts. I’ve actually played with this Juku coding kit and can say it’s an excellent tool. Kits like these can run as much as $60, so to snag for this price is a great deal.

Pick any combo or two of the same. Today’s kits are the Light Games Coding Kit, Light Show Coding Kit, Making Music Coding Kit, and Smart Car Bots Kit. If you’re a cool nerdy aunt like me, this is the kind of thing you turn up with when you visit for the weekend. It’s recommended for ten years old and up. But if you have a particularly curious or tech-savvy kid who’s a bit younger, it still might work. It’s hard to beat the price given how kids can get bored with hobbies easily. You could also have a future programmer or web developer on your hands, and it all started here.

If you’ve read a few of our posts on SideDeal before and you like what you’ve seen, they offer a $5 monthly fee to get free shipping on all of your orders, no matter how many. Otherwise, it’s a flat rate of $8.

Once you get used to having a wireless charging stand on your desk, it’s hard to miss when you go without it. Sure, it may not add a ton of new functionality, but it’s a nice way to quickly glance at your notifications, keep your phone propped up during video calls, or maybe keep a video playing in the background as you churn through your work day—all without having to plug in a cable. Usually these stands sit on a desk since they need to be plugged into something, but this 20000mAh portable charger from Aukey has wireless charging and a stand built right in. It’s no bigger than most smartphones, and can wirelessly charge your phone multiple times depending on the size of your phone’s battery. It also has a kickstand and slot for your phone, so you can keep your phone upright while it’s charging. Typically, it sells for about $45, but today you can get it for $46 using an on-page coupon, plus the code M2HFBAC9 at checkout.

MagSafe is one of the clever, yet unseen new enhancements for Apple’s iPhone 12, implementing a magnetic anchor beneath the backing glass that you can snap a wireless charger and other accessories onto. In classic Apple fashion, however, the accessories are pricey: the MagSafe charging pad itself is $39 without the needed power brick, which will run you another $19.

Here’s a more cost-effective MagSafe charger from third-party maker RAVPower, which offers a wide range of great accessories for phones and other devices. This charger magnetically snaps onto the back of any iPhone 12 model and provides the same kind of wireless charging speed, plus you can use it for AirPods Pro and wirelessly-chargeable AirPods cases.

It also comes with the needed 20W USB-C PD power adapter to plug it into the wall, and it’s all yours for $25 right now when you clip the coupon on the page at Amazon. That’s less than half the price of buying Apple’s own components.

If you’re looking to up your streaming mise en scène, Best Buy is running a big sale on Razer PC accessories that’s worth perusing. Everything from keyboards to headsets are on sale, so it’s a good chance to stock up. There have been a few other Razer sales recently, so here’s a few highlights of products that are unique to this round. First off, the star of the show: Razer’s Kraken Kitty headset is $110. Yes, the cat ear headphones. I don’t need to say much more about that. You can also grab the Kiyo webcam for $80, which comes with a built in ring light. If you’re less of a streamer and just want some good PC accessories, the DeaathAdder V2 gaming mouse is down to $100. Take a peek through the full list and see if anything speaks to your little RGB heart.

Samsung’s smartwatches strike a much different look than the Apple Watch, thanks to a circular design and more traditional watch-inspired allure, but its standard Galaxy Watch models aren’t the most ideal for wearing during workouts. Luckily, that’s where the slimmer and streamlined Galaxy Watch Active comes in, and it’s on sale right now at Amazon.

The first-gen 2019 Galaxy Watch Active is marked down to just $137 in black right now for the lone 40mm size, a savings of 32% off the list price. The green and rose gold versions are a little bit pricier at $150 each, but still deliver solid savings.

If you’re keen on getting the newer Galaxy Watch Active 2 instead, which adds more health sensors and offers an optional LTE edition, you can also save $50 on either the 40mm ($200) or 44mm ($250) GPS edition too. All of these watches work most smoothly with Samsung’s own smartphones, but you can also pair them with other Android phones or even an iPhone.

Now that you’ve stocked up on games from Black Friday sales on Steam, EGS, Origin, Uplay, and the like, you need to start thinking about expanding your storage. And while SSDs aren’t sexy, it is necessary to own one—and one with ample capacity for all your favorites. With some terribly optimized games like Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War taking up upwards of 100GB on your fastest drive, investing in an SSD with, say, four whole terabytes of space isn’t as bold an ask as it was just a few years ago, nor is it as prohibitively expensive as it once was.

The RGB-ified Spectrix RGB gaming SSD from ADATA gaming brand XPG, for instance, is on sale for just $400 on eBay, down 55% from its $900 list price. Because it’s an M.2 NVMe drive, it can drive “sustained” 3,500/3,000 MBps read/write speeds, according to ADATA, and fits snug in your motherboards M.2 slot, no additional cable management required. By comparison, an older SATA III SSD like the ADATA SU800, which costs half the amount for half the storage, claims read/write speeds of just 560/520MBps. Bang for buck, this price is unbeatable for anyone in the market for storage performance that keeps up with the latest PS5 and Xbox Series X consoles.

For a short time, you can get your hands on the Garmin Vivosmart 4 Activity and Fitness Tracker with Heart Rate Monitor. It’s only $89 on MorningSave, which is 32% off its original list price of $130. You’ll obviously be able to track your steps as well as your heart rate, but this cute watch can also measure blood oxygen levels, which is super important in the age of Covid. If you have specific sleep goals, it can measure REM sleep amounts and general stress throughout the night (and day). The Vivosmart 4 can go swimming with you, too, and can track the number of laps you took in the pool. It’s so well-rounded, y’all. If I didn’t already have a Series 6, I would’ve purchased it already.

It’s a big day today for America. Not only is Hitman 3 out on consoles and PC, but over at the Bezos Barn, a bunch of stuff is 20% off presumably to celebrate that fact. For those who don’t know, Amazon Warehouse is where products go to live when they’re returned to the company’s fulfillment centers for whatever reason. In order to make the cut, they’re subjected to a 20-point inspection before being relisted on the Amazon site with full transparency of their quality, ranging from “Like New/Open Box” to “Acceptable.” You can buy tons of stuff on the Amazon Warehouse site in a variety of categories, hence the excitement whenever a sale like this pops up.

Through January 27, for instance, you can snatch up an Apple Smart Keyboard for either the iPad and iPad Air or the 12.9″ iPad Pro version starting at $73. Need a new gaming headset? The Turtle Beach Ear Force Recon 50X is only $15 while the higher-end Razer Kraken Pro is down to $34. Other items include a four-pack of blue-light-blocking glasses, a Garmin Venu GPS smartwatch, and the first three Toy Story movies. Shop the whole sale here, or you can filter your search by department. For starters, check out electronics, video games, and home and kitchen for some of the deepest savings. Keep in mind, however, anything you’re interested in buying will have to be added to your cart first before the 20% discount is applied.

If you’re an iPhone user with some cash to blow, skip the pretenders and even the lesser AirPods to go for something better. The AirPods Pro step the game up with rubber tips, active noise cancellation, better overall audio quality, and a wirelessly-chargeable case as standard.

They’re a bit expensive normally, but right now Staples has ‘em for $40 off the list price. At $209, it’s the best price we’ve seen in a few weeks, although they were lower around the holidays. Still, if you held out and you’ve been hoping for another solid price drop, this is your chance.

If you’ve been itching to bring a very large TV into your home, now’s the time: the Super Bowl is only a couple of weeks away, and the big sales are sure to be kicking in all over the place.

Here’s a prime option that’s available now and in stock: Best Buy is slashing $300 off the price of this massive Hisense 85” 4K LED Smart TV, which packs in 8.3 million pixels for a super-crisp Ultra HD picture and supports both Dolby Vision HDR and HDR10 standards. The Android TV-powered set already has all of the major video apps built in, and while there are only a few reviews on the site so far, they’re all pretty glowing given the 4.8-star average.

I’ve tested Mpow products in the past and was always pleasantly surprised at the value to price ratio. They’re quality without breaking the bank. A real holiday treat from the company is their M30 Earbuds. They’re just $20 when you clip the coupon and use the code 4CCMYM3W. This discount will appear once you start the checkout process. This code expires Sunday, and it only works on the pink color.

$20 is a great price for an extra set of earbuds. If you’re running errands or just running and you don’t want to take your most expensive buds on the go, these are for you. Quick to pair and easy to bounce between tunes and calls. The M30’s are noise-canceling, so ideal for travel, and just because they are small and fit snuggly doesn’t mean there’s no power in them. Little buds, big bass. They’re sweat-proof, so sport it up and fear not about ruining them. You’ll get about 5 hours off of one charge but 25 hours with the charging case. The only blip is if you’re an Android user, you have to adjust the volume on your phone to “maximum” first to get the highest volume out of these. Other than that, it’s a solid audio device at a solid price.

Free shipping on this item for Prime members. This deal will expire on January 24.

If you’re looking for a portable projector that packs a punch, the Anker Nebula Mars II Pro might do the trick. This 720p projector provides an image up to 150 inches in size, yet comes in a compact package with a built-in handle. It’s $90 off the list price right now at Amazon, where it has a stellar 4.5-star rating from 775+ customers.

Tercius Bufete reviewed the Anker Nebula Mars II Pro for The Inventory last year and called it “an incredible portable projector hindered by rinky-dink software.” In other words, if you plan to use it (and the software situation hasn’t improved since then), you might want to use a cheap plug-in streaming stick like the Amazon Fire TV Stick or Roku Express to gain access to a wider array of apps and services.

I can’t think of any computer accessory that’s gotten more of a workout in recent history than the webcam. From Zoom meetings to digital concerts to online comic conventions to just Skyping with your family, the webcam kept us connected in a very disjointed world. A solution is on the pandemic’s horizon, but we are still social distancing and should be now more than ever. If you need to upgrade your system or even finally grab a cam, this is a great deal from a very reliable company. From now until January 24, save 53% on Aukey’s PC-LM1E Webcam; clip the coupon.

This webcam presents everything in high-def for crisp, clear pictures with built-in stereo microphones. The 1080p streaming makes this perfect for YouTube live, or even Twitch feeds. This works well in low light, too, if that your preferred setup. Stereo sound allows everything to be heard fully and clearly. It’s easy to install and clips right onto a flat-screen or laptop. Just plug into your device’s USB port, and you’re good to go. Don’t worry; you’ll get a manual and a warranty if you get stuck or something goes wrong. But given how dependable Aukey products are, we don’t expect the latter.

It’s 2021 and it’s time to get back into The Sims. The classic life simulator series has been kicking all this time with consistent updates. The Sims 4 is now a robust package, complete with tons of extra add-ons. To put it bluntly, I’m a simp for these Sims. I love ‘em, I’d do anything for them. I only speak Simlish now. If you’d like to get obsessed with these digital babblers, Best Buy is currently running a sale on The Sims 4. You can grab the PC version for $20 (plus some discounted DLC) or a console version that includes the Island Living DLC for $25. The life simulator is a perfect getaway from real life, so come on in, the water’s fine. But be careful because I will remove the ladder from the pool once you’re in here.

Baby Yoda Funko Pops were some of the hottest sellers in 2020, leading the wave of highly diverse (and sometimes questionable) The Mandalorian merch. With the second season of The Mandalorian streaming a couple months back, it’s no surprise to see a fresh selection of Pops, including some larger deluxe editions.

Here’s one of ‘em that just released, recreating the scene in which Mando rides a Bantha through the desert with lil’ Grogu tucked into a pouch for the ride. It stands 6” high and is currently 25% off the list price at just under $25 at Amazon. These things never stay in stock for very long, so snag it if you see it still available!

Joe Biden is now the President of the United States and he just passed a law that says “you’re legally not a gamer unless you own a gaming chair.” Damn Joe, that doesn’t really seem like an important thing to pass right now. Because this is now the law of the land, that means that most of you aren’t gamers anymore. If you’re looking to remedy this fast, Staples is selling the Emerge Vortex gaming chair half off. You can become a gamer again for $100 when you buy this. There are a few different color options available, including red and black, the gamer colors. Considering how pricey gaming chairs can be, this is a pretty cheap deal, so check it out if you’ve been in the market for one lately.

If you’re looking to replenish your board game selection, here’s an extremely cheap way to do it. Macy’s currently has select Mattel games on sale for $4. Four games are included in the sale and they’re all quite different. Perhaps you can check out Sketchagrams, a hashtag drawing game from the creators of Pictionary. Or you can live the big tech life with Silicon Valley Startups and create an absurd business with your buds. My personal favorite in the bunch is Noisy Neighbors, a game where you try to guess what the heck your neighbors are doing that’s causing so much noise. That’s especially relatable for apartment dwellers. Check out all four games and see if any of them make you curious enough to part with $4.

We all knew this day was coming. Ever since Cyberpunk 2077 launched just about a month ago, it’s seemed pretty clear that a price drop was imminent. A wave of bad press really hurt the game’s word of mouth, despite the fact that it reportedly sold over 13 million units.

Whether or not this is directly related to all of the fallout, you can now get Cyberpunk 2077 on PlayStation 4 or Xbox One for $35 from Best Buy, and Amazon has also matched the price on PS4 and Xbox One. If you’d rather get a PC copy, Eneba has the game down to $31 when you use the discount code CYBERPUNKPATCH at checkout. You’ll get a key that’s redeemable on GOG.

Be warned that the game has been widely criticized on consoles for poor performance, especially if you have the original base PS4 or Xbox One hardware (instead of the PS4 Pro or Xbox One X).

CD Projekt Red has announced a roadmap of patches and fixes that will roll out in the coming months, and you’ll also get access to the respective next-generation upgrade on PS5 or Xbox Series X/S once that’s released later this year. However, there is no guarantee of eventual performance quality, so jump in at your own risk.

Do you currently enjoy many close and cherished relationships with friends and family? Would you like to absolutely ruin all of those in the blink of an eye? Well do I have a deal for you! GameStop is currently selling a two pack that includes Overcooked! and Overcooked! 2 on Nintendo Switch for $25. These are two fantastic multiplayer games where players need to work together to run a kitchen. Sounds simple enough, right? You have no idea how wrong you are, naïve fool. Overcooked! is a game about chaos in cooperation. Simple tasks like making a hamburger become a nightmare as four people all try to coordinate to make it together. It’s essentially the old “too many cooks” adage adapted into a video game.

I know that there’s plenty of huge game sales to cover today, but I need to take a quick moment to trigger something deep within your brain. Head back to your childhood for a moment. Wow, look at that, you can play a whole X-Men or Transformers game right now! Forget the haircut, this barber shop is an eCafe now! We’re in the infancy stage of this brave new world of consoles right now, which means we’ve got a good 8 years of PlayStation 5 ahead of us. The early years are an especially exciting time for a new system as developers go all out, taking advantage of new hardware. With exciting games on the horizon, it’s a good time to pick up a PS Plus subscription so you can play online. For those who know they’ll be playing the system for a while, Eneba currently has a strong deal on the online service.

You can grab 2 full years of PS Plus for $56. To get it, add a 1-year membership to your cart. Then head to checkout, up the quantity to two, and enter the code 56ISLESSTHAN120. It shakes out to just under $30 a year, so this is an excellent bit of saving for anyone with enough foresight to know they’ll still be playing Destiny 2 in 2023.

Originally, we shared this deal after Black Friday weekend was done in November. But 18″ Pikachu Funko Pop has a way of showing up on sale when we need it most. Today, you can get it for $70 at GameStop. We’ve spoken at length about 18″ Pikachu Funko Pop before, noting that it’s something of a symbol. After a weekend of crazy deals where you needed a road map to keep up with everything, 18″ Pikachu Funko Pop represented a return to normalcy. It was a temporary breath of fresh air, no matter how brief, before we returned to the world of constant Cyberpunk 2077 price drops. So today, may we all take one minute to look at 18″ Pikachu Funko Pop and perhaps let out the briefest chuckle before we move on with what could be a very eventful day. Thank you, 18″ Pikachu Funko Pop.

There are tons of sports games out there beyond the usual suspects. Just this weekend, I played Cricket 19 on Game Pass to try and better understand the wide world of cricket. It was a deeply confusing experience, but hey, I appreciated trying something new for a change. If you’re looking for your next left-field sports obsession, F1 2020 is currently $25 at GameStop. It’s a comprehensive racing simulation that features a wealth of content, from a 10-year career mode to split-screen multiplayer. The beginning of a new year is always a bit of a slow period for games, so whether you’re an F1 fanatic or someone who’s just casually interested in racing, the $25 price point is low enough to merit some curiosity.

The one thing the Nintendo Switch has over every other console at the moment is accessory potential. The unique portable/console hybrid design lends itself to all sorts of creative add-ons. Today, GameStop has a trio of Switch accessories from Yok on sale that illustrate exactly that. First off, you can grab a an “ultimate” carrying case for $12, which includes includes space for chargers, 10 game cards, and joy-con grips. Them there’s a car headrest mount for $12, which is perfect for keeping your kids distracted during long car rides. Last but not least is my personal favorite: the Ring Wall Mount. Yok created a little peripheral designed to hang your ring-con controller and it even holds your joy-cons. At only $8, it’s the kind of cheap peripheral storage solution you might never realize you needed otherwise.

You can’t make me do it. You can’t ask me to write up a post about this Tauntaun sleeping bag, which is on sale for $85 at GameStop, and expect me to write a joke about how it smells. Sure, it seems obvious to write a headline line “Wait Until You Smell the Inside of This $85 Tauntaun Sleeping Bag!” but I refuse to give in. And frankly, you don’t want this either. A quick google search shows that this joke has been made dozens of times for this very same product. Deals writers before me have jumped on this goof, and they’ll continue to long after I am dead. Would you even buy this if I wrote an entire article implying that this comfortable sleeping bag smelled terrible? Really think about it! In any case, you can buy this sleeping bag and not smell it if you want.

Before the pandemic hit, I was eager to start volunteering at my local urban farm—I had a training session scheduled and everything. Since then, at least in Manhattan, there were strict limitations put in place for anyone hoping to pursue outdoor gardening in the concrete jungle. And I wasn’t willing to go through all the necessary hoops to potentially put myself at risk by going outside and regularly interacting with people just to spend more time outdoors tending to my neighborhood’s public plants. That said, there are options for any aspiring agriculturist looking to get their hands dirty.

While I recently picked up an AeroGarden Harvest Elite Slim for my wife over the holidays, the Farm 12 XL is currently on sale at Best Buy for little over $100 more than what I paid for my, much smaller, seed pot kit. With it, all you have to do is supply the device with the including “liquid plant food” every couple of weeks and watch your vegetation grow. You’ll get all the benefits of growing your own greenery at home without the heavy labor investment. A 60-watt LED light takes care of the sunlight aspect, in case you don’t have a yard to properly harvest plants. In the box, you’ll find 12 seed pods to start growing herbs, salad greens, and tomatoes—practically everything you need to make a fresh salad—all at a steep discount for a limited time.

Water helps with digestion, clears your skin, protects your organs, there’s a whole host of benefits. The daily recommendation is four-to-six cups of H2O, so each of these bottles is a perfect size. Now, these deals are so good because usually only one color is discounted. If you aren’t too picky, you’ll find the right one. And the sizes run from fifty ounces all the way down to twenty ounces. They also come as insulated stainless steel or durable BPA-free plastic. All are easy to clean and will help keep you on track to unlock your aqua achievements.

The towel is plush but absorbent and made of cotton terry material. And of course, his sweet face blesses this towel, which measures twenty-five inches by fifty inches. I still say take a chance if you are a petite adult. This set also comes with a Grogu loofah to scrub all the grim of Sorgan and Nevarro off. Relax in a hot bath after traversing the Outer Rim, then get cozy with the number one babe in the galaxy.

Remember at the beginning of quarantine 60 years ago when everyone was trying to make Dalgona coffee. Apparently, it’s easier than it looked, but I quickly abandoned the idea because I did not have a hand mixer or frother. Today 61% on this one from Cuisinart for just $29.

In the reviews, I like that someone brought up how portable and lightweight it is, which I guess if you have a coffee/milk emergency, you could carry it with you. But it does look easy to operate with just one button, and it’s easy to clean, unlike other kitchen appliances. It’s tiny but powerful, with two hundred watts behind it. The ergonomic handle ensures a comfortable and steady grip. It’s accompanied by a twenty-four-ounce mixing beaker and a traditional chef’s whisk. You’ll be able to pick from three colors: blue, red, or white.

Sometimes, we just see a deal that we have no choice but to post. This is one of those deals. You can get a Dragon Ball Z Popcorn Maker for $30 at GameStop. That’s right, folks. You can pop corn inside of that big Dragon Ball and then use it as a service dish. This presents a key chance to make some Dragon Ball jokes, so you know we’re going to take them. Gags like “You can cook your popcorn for over 9,000 minutes” (don’t do that). Or perhaps a one-liner about how this will spend multiple days charging up its power before actually cooking your popcorn (it doesn’t do that, it makes popcorn at a normal rate of time). Maybe I’ll just say “Goku” as a joke and call it a day. Either way, you can cook popcorn inside of a Dragon Ball for $30. Goku.

This Vison series is one of the best Marvel’s come out with in years, and it remains a personal favorite of mine—not just because my pal Michael Walsh is an artist on it. Vision: The Complete Series is the perfect pairing with the new Disney Plus show WandaVision. While it doesn’t exactly follow the same plot, it does provide some much-needed insight into Vision’s backstory. Now 30% off, this paperback compilation includes twelve complete issues of the series. And if you want it all digital, you can save 78% through Kindle or ComiXology.

This graphic novel is written by the uber-talented Tom King, and it even won the Eisner for Best Limited Series in 2017. Through the twelve issues, you’ll follow Vision as he pursues a normal life for himself despite being, you know, a robotic death machine designed by Ultron to slay the Avengers. To do this, he winds up building a family as extraordinary as himself, discovering along the way that normalcy is just out of reach. The dialogue is brilliant, as is the case with most of King’s works, intimately putting Vision’s family bond on full display. And, of course, it wouldn’t be a superhero comic if it didn’t all come to an epic and heartbreaking crossroad. All in all, it’s a really fun read if you’re looking to expand your knowledge of the multifaceted Victor Shade.

Mark Consuelos’ NSFW touch upon Kelly Ripa’s image makes you blush

0

Mark ConsuelosWe blush.

It was just another day in the life of Kelly Ripa on Thursday January 21st when she shared a section of her desirable sweatshirt on social media. The talk show host during the day looked cozy and chic in a hoodie with the sparkling message “More Glitter Less Twitter”.

“This is the best costume for the day,” according to the Live! star titled the post “because glitter doesn’t rhyme with Instagram #dressingroom #greygardens.”

Needless to say, fans and celebrity friends alike got a kick from above. Mariah Carey commented, “I’m going to need this shirt.” Bethenny Frankel gushed, “Oh my god, can I borrow this? I’ll make you one … I have an idea.”

Ripa’s longtime husband also apparently had an NSFW idea about what was on the sweatshirt. “Baby,” he wrote, “is that a G or a C … to ask a friend.”

It wasn’t long before his famous wife responded with a few laughing, crying emojis. “Candy,” she added, “quietly.”

Schumer says Home will ship Trump’s impeachment article to the Senate on Monday

The House will submit the impeachment article against former President Donald Trump to the Senate on Monday, Senate majority leader Chuck Schumer said on Friday.

The action will start the process for the second trial the ex-president faced for high crimes and misdemeanors. While Trump has already left the White House, the Senate can vote to ban him from taking office again if it convicts him.

Parliament earlier this month accused Trump of instigating an anti-government riot by igniting a mob who overran the Capitol on Jan. 6.

The Senate will need 67 votes to condemn Trump. If all 50 Democrats support a guilty verdict, it will take 17 Republicans to join them.

According to Schumer, Senate Minority Chairman Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., Raised concerns that Trump would not have enough time to build a defense. He asked the House to air the article on January 28th to ensure “a full and fair trial.”

Trump hired South Carolina attorney Butch Bowers to defend him during the trial. The nine impeachment managers who will represent the case of the House are Democratic Representatives Jamie Raskin from Maryland, Diana DeGette from Colorado, David Cicilline from Rhode Island, Joaquin Castro from Texas, Eric Swalwell and Ted Lieu from California, Stacey Plaskett, the delegates the US Virgin Islands, Madeleine Dean from Pennsylvania, and Joe Neguse from Colorado.

House spokeswoman Nancy Pelosi, who wouldn’t say Thursday when her chamber would send the article to the Senate, claimed managers didn’t need to prepare as much evidence for the second trial as they did for the first last year.

“This year the whole world witnessed the president’s instigation, call to action and violence,” the California Democrat told reporters.

Schumer said he spoke to McConnell about “when and how long the trial will take” but did not provide details of how long it would take. The Democratic leader wants to align the impeachment process with the confirmation of Biden cabinet members and the passage of a law to ease the coronavirus.

“The Senate must and will do all three,” he said on Friday.

The first trial against Trump last year for abuse of power and obstruction of Congress lasted about three weeks. The Republican-held Senate acquitted him.

Schumer downplayed the GOP’s concerns that the Democrats would rush through the process after a hasty trial in the House indicting Trump just a week after the riot.

“It will be a full process. It will be a fair process,” he said.

McConnell has not indicated whether he will vote to condemn Trump. On Tuesday he said the rioters were “provoked by the president and other powerful people.”

Republican Sens. Lisa Murkowski from Alaska and Pat Toomey from Pennsylvania called on Trump to step down while he was still in office. Nobody said how they would vote on the conviction.

Murkowski said in a statement earlier this month that the House responded to the attack on the Capitol “swiftly and I believe appropriately with impeachment”.

What’s IPFS and why is it essential in Courageous’s net browser?

0

Brave is now the first web browser to use Integrated support for InterPlanetary File System (IPFS). IPFS is a peer-to-peer hypermedia protocol and provides a different way of creating and using the Internet than the HTTP (Hypertext Transfer Protocol) and HTTPS (Hypertext Transfer Protocol over Secure Socket Layer) protocols that have been used for decades.

This is a notable change for Brave users, affecting browsing speed, connection stability, privacy, and even legislation. However, it could even affect the future of the Internet in general if other browsers follow Brave’s lead. Before we dive into why IPFS support matters, let’s explain how it works and what makes it different from HTTP / HTTPS.

What is IPFS?

When you use HTTP or HTTPS, your browser uses Universal Resource Locators (URLs) to access websites from centralized servers. Their physical proximity to the servers affects how much bandwidth is used and how long the page takes to load.

Instead of URLs and servers, IPFS distributes website data over a network. The data is accessed using URIs (Universal Resource Identifiers). More information about how IPFS works can be found here on good announcement post, but in simple terms, it’s similar to BitTorrent and Blockchain. Each computer or mobile device – known as a “node” – temporarily stores some of the data on a website. So when you access a website over IPFS, you are downloading the data from other nearby nodes on the network. Users can also access IPFS content through a “public gateway” if they do not want to act as a local node.

The pros and cons of IPFS

The most immediate impact of hosting IPFS remotely is that it takes less time to load web pages. Because you are accessing data from local nodes instead of remote servers, load times and bandwidth requirements can decrease, and file transfer and streaming speeds can increase significantly. When IPFS starts, the need for centralized servers can be completely reduced or even eliminated. Web sites would no longer crash for all users if a server were taken offline because its data would be spread across an entire network.

G / O Media can receive a commission

Decentralized hosting also makes top-down censorship – from governments or web hosting companies, for example – much more difficult. However, this is a difficult subject. Undermining authoritarian content laws in countries where freedom of expression is not protected could make it much easier to find important information. However, it also means that problematic websites are even more difficult to remove. And I’m not talking about silencing the conflicting political views – real dangers like human trafficking, child abuse and terrorist activity would be harder to find and root out because there would be no central server to host the problematic websites or content.

There are also privacy concerns whether you’re acting as a local node on Brave’s IPFS network or simply loading IPFS content. When you are a node, the network gives you a unique ID. This ID is hashed but can be viewed by other users and can be used to see what others are hosting and accessing. The resources of your device and your personal network are also used when another user accesses the IPFS data you are currently hosting.

You can also choose not to be a node and simply access IPFS content through a public gateway. However, public gateways can view and log your IP address. Read more about how these issues affect Brave specifically – and find tips on how to reduce risk -.on Brave’s IPFS security support page.

These issues will need to be addressed if IPFS ever completely replaces HTTP / HTTPS. Currently, Brave uses IPFS alongside HTTP / HTTPS to increase speed and stability. However, this only affects content that is configured for IPFS hosting.

Using IPFS in Brave

Illustration for article titled What Is IPFS and Why Is It Important in Braves Web Browser?Screenshot: Brendan Hesse

IPFS works in Brave version 1.19 or higher. To activate it, go to Settings> ExtensionsThen select your preferred IPFS method under “Method for Resolving IPFS Resources.” “Local node” will use your local node, “Goal” uses the public gateway and “Ask” This option allows you to choose every time you access IPFS content. “With special needs” turns off IPFS.

(Note: If you’ve set up a firewall using Windows Security or another program, you may be prompted to configure Brave’s IPFS node when using the Local Node option.)

Activate “IPFS Public Gateway Fallback” This option allows you to load IPFS content even if your local node is not working. As already mentioned, this makes your IP address traceable.

turn on “IPFS Companion” Adds an extension to Brave that allows you to control your local node settings and view connection status. If you don’t want to use the IPFS companion add-on, you can also configure Brave’s local IPFS node settings by going to brave: // ipfs. On this page you can turn your local node on or off and see how many peers are currently connected.

With everything connected, you can access IPFS content. This requires a URI. These will be hard to come by until more users, websites, and browsers adopt IPFS support. However, Brave has a sample URI that loads a wiki page for Vincent Van Gogh:

Just copy and paste that into Brave’s navigation bar to load the page. Note that IPFS is disabled when using Brave’s built-in Tor Private Browsing, as IPFS is a privacy compromise.

Millennials, How A lot Do You Know About Loans ?, Cash Information

0

The concept of credit may seem like a modern invention, but it is believed that credit is as old as the invention of the wheel.

The earliest known case of credit occurred in 3500 BC. BC In Sumer (today’s southern Iraq). In 1800 BC The first known law on credit, the Code of Hammurabi, was written in Babylon.

50 BC The philosopher Cicero from the Roman Republic wrote an account in which his neighbor bought land by using credit.

However, it is believed that modern credit reporting originated in England in 1803 and that a group of English tailors are involved.

What is credit

Do not despair if you are not entirely sure of this term.

Simply put, loans are funds borrowed from banks and financial institutions that are repaid at a later date and usually include both the interest and the principal amount.

This is in contrast to direct debit, where goods and services are paid for with money that you currently own or have.

A major benefit of paying with credit is the ability to pay for something you may not otherwise be able to.

For example, if you want to study at a university but don’t have the necessary tuition, you can take out a student loan to finance your education.

Nowadays, credit is inextricably linked to our daily lives and we often need it for large item purchases.

If you are planning to buy a car or a house, the most common option is to get a loan from a bank.

Different types of loan products

There are two types of loan products: secured loans and unsecured loans. Secured loans are loans that are tied to collateral.

[[nid:513493]]]

Collateral is an asset that is pledged as security for the repayment of a loan. If you do not make the payment on time, the securities will expire.

Some examples of secured loans are vehicle loans, home loans, secured credit cards, and secured overdrafts.

Conversely, unsecured loans are borrowed money that is not tied to collateral.

Some examples of unsecured loans are home renovation loans, student loans, unsecured credit cards, and unsecured overdrafts.

When applying for a loan, make sure that you know what type of loan you are applying for.

Effects of bad credit history

After you have successfully received a credit, it is very important to make sure that payment is complete and on time.

Failure to do so often incurs a late fee and interest.

[[nid:515334]]]

If there is an extended period of partial and late payment, you can enter into a debt that may get out of control.

If you are unable to make payments in full and on time, your payment records will be compromised.

This, in turn, affects your creditworthiness.

A bad credit score will deter lenders from providing future credit to you.

Before you sign up for a credit card or take out a loan, you should know the terms of your loan application.

Follow these instructions carefully to avoid going into huge debt.

Advantages of exemplary credit behavior

On the other hand, good credit history offers several rewards and benefits.

Besides not having to worry about debt accumulation, you are essentially building a positive credit reputation.

Banks and financial institutions often offer better interest rates than usual for loan applications with a positive credit rating.

Many credit card companies often have a rewards program that can be very attractive.

This comes in the form of cashbacks, vouchers, vacations, airline miles and more.

Conclusion

Now that you know what credit is, you may want to learn more about how you can build a good credit reputation.

Candace Cameron Bure Decides to have a full house on social media.

The 44-year-old Fuller House actress visited her Instagram Story on Thursday, January 21st to appeal to fans who recently raised concerns about some of the accounts she follows on Twitter and Instagram.

“I’ve read several comments from people and I think there are quite a few new followers. Thank you if you’re still around to follow me,” she said with a laugh. “People who were disappointed or told me they weren’t following me because of the people I follow on Instagram. Contracts pegged to major US stock indices gave way early Friday morning as Wall Street looked to end the record week on a muted note.

Dow futures lost 131 points while S&P 500 futures were below the flatline. Nasdaq 100 futures were also trading in negative territory.

The after-hours moves came after a strong performance by the Nasdaq Composite earlier in the day during the regular session.

The index rose to another record high as investors placed bets on strong tech gains next week. The tech-heavy benchmark rose 0.6%, making new highs thanks in large part to a 3.7% gain in Apple shares.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average and S&P 500 both had muted sessions, with the former dropping 12 points and the latter less than 0.1% to make another new high.

Hopes for a robust earnings season from the country’s largest communications and technology stocks saw mega-cap stocks trending upward during the week of shortened holidays, with major indices nearing records.

Apple and Facebook were up 7.7% and 8.6%, respectively, this week ahead of their quarterly results, while Microsoft was up 5.8%.

Wall Street’s eyes are still on Washington as new President Joe Biden works to lay the early groundwork for his Covid-19 and economic recovery agenda.

Investors are increasingly confident that Congress will consider a scaled-down version of Biden’s original $ 1.9 trillion coronavirus relief bill. Some moderate senators have expressed doubts about the need for another bill, particularly one with such a price tag, less than a month after Congress passed a $ 900 billion incentive in December.

Meanwhile, the Senate is expected to approve former Fed chair Janet Yellen as Biden’s Treasury Secretary by an overwhelming majority on Friday. If this were confirmed, she would be the first woman to head the department.

On company news, IBM shares fell more than 6% in the extended session after the company reported fourth-quarter revenue that was below analysts’ expectations. Revenue declined 6% on a year-on-year basis for the fourth straight quarter of declines.

J&J plans to have 100 million vaccines for Individuals by spring, says board member

0

Dr. Johnson & Johnson board member Mark McClellan told CNBC that “if the clinical trial works,” the company could significantly increase the availability of Covid vaccines in the coming weeks.

“I know J&J has a very large supply with its production both here in the US and elsewhere in the world, with the goal of maybe having enough vaccines for 100 million Americans by spring or April So,” said the former FDA commissioner in a Thursday evening interview on “The News with Shepard Smith”.

During a speech at the White House Thursday, government lead infectious disease doctor Anthony Fauci said Johnson & Johnson would have enough data on its vaccine to start analysis within a week or two. McClellan told host Shepard Smith that the most important thing about the company’s vaccine is the large-scale clinical trial that is ongoing.

“Based on these results, the independent scientists overseeing this study should take a closer look in the near future and we’ll see how quickly the vaccine could advance,” McClellan said.

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, an average of 883,000 syringes of the Covid vaccine are given per day in the US for the past six days. Even so, less than 50% of the 37,960,000 cans distributed have found their way into people’s arms.

At least 12 states have reported vaccine shortages. Officials from San Francisco and New York warned they could be completely out of dose this week. At least 15 vaccination sites in New York City are temporarily closed. New York Mayor Bill DeBlasio told NBC’s Gabe Gutierrez that at least 23,000 vaccine appointments must be postponed.

McClellan noted that “the supply will go up, but probably not enough to keep up with the large number of Americans who are now really looking to get vaccinated.” However, he told Smith that he believes the Biden administration can help speed up the vaccine adoption rate.

“It’s going to be a challenge, but I think more than 100 million Americans can be vaccinated in the next few months,” said McClellan, a health policy expert at Duke University.

President Joe Biden promised a “full war effort” to fight the coronavirus pandemic and accelerate vaccine production using the Defense Production Act during a briefing Thursday.

“We have already identified suppliers and are working with them to move the plan forward,” said Biden.

He added that the DPA would help fix supply chain issues, including a shortage of syringes.

Please … don’t use ellipses in your textual content messages

I … have to … make a confession …: I think if you wedge ellipses in text, you are inadvertently robbing your message of any linear train of thought.

The written word has long been committed to the development of styles and conventions, but if I can be a Curmudgeon for a moment, at no point in history has the English lexicon been dot-by-dot interspersed to such a prodigious extent. At the risk of sounding like an ageist, the truth remains that this is a quirk of the oldest among us – a cohort that grew up without the convenience and curse of an all-inclusive internet and thrived into adulthood. But instead of belittling boomers – or anyone – who haven’t yet adapted their communications to the digital age, I hope this helps.

That is why your texts – and everyone who reads them – deserve more than multiple ellipses.

They make it seem like something is wrong

Don’t let your reader analyze the subtlety in your text messages. For most Millennials and Gen Z members (and even some Gen Xers), texting is a primary means of communication, even if it can be really boring and impersonal. If you answer “OK …”, a text reader may feel like they are leaving something unsaid. For example, what is derived from the three remaining points that make your sentence beg for finality?

Gretchen McCulloch, a linguist and author of Because Internet: Understanding the New Language Rules, recently discussed this very subject USA today.

In short, it boils down to using the storage space that is of paramount importance when talking on a digital device. She told the paper that ellipses are far less awkward in handwritten letters, where normal transitions in thought and syntax are usually easier to decipher.

Whenever you’re writing someone a letter or postcard, you know that using a small punctuation mark is an efficient way to get from one thought to the next (using the space).

However, when it comes to a digital medium, the ellipses are gradually being adjusted in favor of line breaks, which are a more direct way of moving from one thought to the next. She sums it up and says, “Computer space is cheap and a line break takes the same amount of code as dot-dot-dot.”

It’s a very specific grammatical convention

An ellipse is not a period. Yes, technically there are three periods, each separated by a full room. Its actual function, however, is quite different from the old-fashioned dot, as it varies depending on the medium being written.

No ellipses are really the same. Uses vary by format, from novels and news to letters and more slang media such as a text message.

As a grammar lover at Explain your dictionaryThe three things you might find in your inboxes are very misunderstood down the line:

The ellipseThese three consecutive periods that you often see in novels and news are among the most misunderstood punctuation marks used in the English language. It’s used indiscriminately in text messages, instant messages, and emails, and social networking sites and blogs have not helped contain the trend.

For example, when writing messages (which we do here at Lifehacker), ellipses are designed to add clarity to an otherwise unclear quote by leaving out what doesn’t need to be said. It is used when a word salad of a quote can be compressed to give the reader much more clarity.

Using the example of your dictionary, this quote is:

“We have found absolutely positively, without a doubt, by drawing our conclusions from all available data and understanding the effects of the recent arson, that this fire was accidental.”

Will this quote:

“We found positive … that this fire was accidental.”

The use of ellipses is even more nuanced. When used in novels or other books, they are intended to provide a pause in dialogue or in the plot of a story. That said, this rule creates the first point: if you are using an ellipse it may seem like there is more to be said and you may be holding back your true intent.

Too many ellipses are just hard to read

If … you … communicate … so … you are … not … very … easy … to … understand. That is perhaps the most basic reason to remove the ellipses from text communication.

Whether you’re trying to reflect on the slow trickle of your thoughts as they form into words or you’ve somehow forgotten that the keyboard has a space bar, remember that it is enough to keep your eyes on this type of grammar to judge with ham hands to provoke a seizure. An ellipse is far too specific to a grammatical convention to be used vaguely. Also, texts look better if you just use normal line breaks.
