The iOS 14.6 update introduced cool new stuff like unlocking your iPhone with voice commands and new Apple Pay features for family groups. It also seems to be ruining your iPhone’s battery performance.
In the days following the introduction of iOS 14.6, many iPhone owners report sudden miserable battery life and even overheating. The topic is widespread, judging by the many posts on it Apple’s support forums, Reddit, and through social media.
At the time of writing, Apple hasn’t disclosed the cause or indicated whether a patch is on the way, but there are a few possible workarounds you can try in the meantime.
Delete apps that are using too much battery

How ZDNet According to reports, some users find that the Apple Podcast and Apple Music apps are consuming much more system resources than normal, and deleting the apps has solved the battery drain problem. However, it is not a universal solution. The apps work fine for some users, others haven’t installed them at all, which means the problem lies elsewhere in the operating system.
You can check for Apple Podcasts, Apple Music, or another app under. consume additional electricity Settings> Battery. The menu lists all apps on your device and their battery life. If some are using too much juice on your iPhone, delete them and see if that solves the problem – but again, it doesn’t work for everyone.
Change your auto brightness settings

Other users claim that turning off the automatic brightness adjustment will restore normal battery usage. Of course, just like the podcast app solution, it doesn’t seem to work for everyone – in fact, it does seem to be less effective – and a lot of people say that they have already turned off auto brightness and the problem continues to appear anyway.
Still, it’s worth a try. The automatic brightness setting is in Settings> Accessibility> Display & Brightness.

It is possible that these unofficial workarounds are pure coincidence, but they are the best we have until Apple – or one of the numerous users investigating the issue – cracks this one and releases a patch.
