Adele supported on the occasion of the four-year anniversary of the tragic fire in Grenfell Tower in London.
The 33-year-old Grammy winner, who rarely appears in public, carries a strong message in footage posted on YouTube on Monday June 14th. The video was shared by Grenfell United, a group made up of families of victims and survivors of the 2017 fire that claimed 72 lives after a kitchen fire caught fire in the 24-story building.
“It’s been four years since the Grenfell Tower fire and there are still so many unanswered questions,” Adele said. “Even so, the process is taking far too long and still no one is responsible for what happened that night. And yet Grenfell United is still out here, fighting tirelessly for justice and the change that not only they deserve, that … their community deserves, that the whole country deserves. “
She continued, “And I want to thank you for that. Thank you for putting aside your pain all these years to fight the fight. I can’t imagine the personal consequences this will have for you. I hope that by this time next year you will have the answers you need to finally be able to breathe deeply together. I love you, see you soon, stay strong. We are all with you. ”
