Chris D’Elia– who faced allegations of sexually molesting underage girls over the summer, broke his silence after darkening social media months ago.

The comedian posted a YouTube video entitled “It’s been a while” on Friday, February 19, for the first time in eight months. (He hasn’t posted to his Instagram or Twitter feeds since June, either.)

In the nearly 10-minute video, he admitted that sex “controls my life” and stated that he had been recovering for several months to learn more about himself and his self-described “problem”. He said that while he was “away” he sought medical advice and therapy, spent time with his family, and tried “to look at myself closely.”

“I understood that for me it was always about sex,” said D’Elia. “It was my focus all along … And I had a problem. And I have a problem.”
