The Goldbergs remember the late George Segal and his beloved character, Pops.
On Wednesday, April 7th, ABC’s longtime sitcom aired the final episode of Pops, which ended with a video homage to George. The veteran actor, who had played Beverly Goldberg’s father since the series began in September 2013, died on March 23 at the age of 87 of complications from bypass surgery.
The video tribute began with an on-screen message that read, “Dedicated to our friend George.” The footage shown below featured some of the character’s highlights from his eight-season run, including a series of moments when Pops offered his family members wise words of wisdom.

She also tweeted, “Tonight’s episode was the last George made, but not the last of our season. We had no idea at the time of filming that it would be our last with him.”
The same day, actress Hayley Orrantia (Erica Goldberg) wrote of the late actor: “We love and miss you so much.”
