Find out how to play PlayStation video games that aren’t obtainable within the US

The PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 are popular around the world, but not every game is available in every country at the same time. There are many games that never leave Japan or that are released in the UK or Europe before the US (or vice versa). Some countries, like Australia and Germany, have strict content laws, so many of the games that are marked “M for Mature” in North America are completely banned – but there are ways to get around the blockages.

While you could import a physical copy of regionally linked games and play the disc on your console, the simpler option is to purchase a digital copy directly on your PS4 or PS5 through another country’s PlayStation Store. You’ll need to create a new PSN account linked to the country whose online PSN store you want to access – but it’s much easier (and often much cheaper and faster) than importing games from overseas.

There are some limitations, of course: you can only access paid DLC with the account it was purchased with, and some online features require accounts with the correct location settings. Oh, and if the game didn’t come with an English option, you may not be able to understand what’s going on in the story or read the in-game menus (although translation guides and walkthroughs may be available if a game is popular enough ). Outside of these limits, however, you can play the full games and demos, or even use the system themes that you purchase from the Japanese or European PlayStation stores with your US account.

Create a regional PSN account

We recommend doing this part on a desktop with Google Chrome because the browser can automatically translate web pages, which makes the process a lot easier if you’re trying to create an account for a country that speaks a different language. However, this can also be done directly on your PS4 or PS5 or on your smartphone.

G / O Media can receive a commission

  1. If you are Sign in on desktop or mobile device: go to https://id.sonyentertainmentnetwork.com/signin/#/signin?entry=%2Fsignin and click “Create Account.” If you are Registration on PS4 or PS5: Create a new account from the login screen when you start the console.
  2. Fill out the registration form. When you get to the page asking for your country / region, select your desired country from the drop-down box. For example, if you are trying to access the Japanese PSN store, select Japan.
  3. The page will reload in the correct form for the selected country. The language of the site can also change. If you’re using Google Chrome on the desktop, the browser will ask if you want to translate the page (or, depending on your settings, the text may be translated automatically). You can also right-click anywhere on the page and then select “Translate into English.” If your browser can’t translate it for you, or you’re logging into your console, try Google Translate on your phone as the app can translate text through your phone’s camera.
  4. Depending on the country you want to create an account for, you may also be asked to provide a state, prefecture, or similar location. You can choose any from the drop-down lists. However, remember that it must match the information that we will add later.
  5. Please fill out the registration form. If you’re asked for an email address, make sure you’re using one that isn’t linked to any other PSN accounts.
  6. In the next steps you have to solve a CAPTCHA code and confirm your email address. Google Translate will come in handy for this step.
  7. In the final form, you will be asked to add personal information. Be sure to answer all of the required fields. This can be a home address, zip code or similar information. It must be a real address in the state / prefecture you selected in step 5. So if you create a Japanese PSN account and set your preferred location to Tokyo, the address you write to should also be in Tokyo.
  8. One of the final steps is to set up payment information, but unless you have a bank card that works for international purchases (and you are willing to pay any currency conversion fees) it is best to skip this step and add money to your account later with prepaid gift cards from the PlayStation Store.
  9. Proceed to the last few steps – this usually includes accepting the Terms of Use (required), setting your contact preferences (you can choose what you want), and / or subscribing to PSN (entirely optional). And if you didn’t verify your email address in step 6, do so now so you can access the PSN Store.

Access to the PlayStation Store

Once your new PSN account has been set up and your email address has been verified, you will be able to access the PlayStation Store for the region of your account. This can be done in several ways:

  • On PC or mobile phone: You can log into your new PSN account on the PlayStation Store website. The store will automatically load with the account’s regional / language settings, and you can use your browser’s translation function if you need to interpret the text. (Note that you will need to sign in to your PSN account on your PS4 / PS5 and verify the device before you can play games.)
  • On PS4 / PS5: Once you’ve created the account on your PS4 or PS5, when you turn on the console, simply select it from the user list and then open the PlayStation Store app. If it’s not the right region, tap over and select that “…” Symbol, then “Shop region”, and select the correct country from the list.

Regardless of how you sign in, each region’s PlayStation Store is built the same, so browsing shouldn’t be too difficult. And as long as you’re downloading free content, you don’t have to worry about payment information.

However, if you want to buy a game, DLC, or any other item, you will need to add your payment information.

As mentioned in step 8 above, we recommend using PlayStation Store gift card codes Available in a variety of currencies through Play Asia. You can try using your own bank account or credit card, but only some payment methods are accepted internationally and most charge a conversion fee.

Play the games

The good news is, once you’ve downloaded your games to your console, they’re ready to play. In most cases, even if the account is registered in a different country than the one in which you purchased the game, you will be able to play them using your primary PSN profile.

The PS4 and PS5 aren’t the only consoles that you can use your international PSN accounts on. It also works on the PS3 and PS Vita and can be used to access their respective digital storefronts.

And if you own a Nintendo Switch, you can create a Japanese or European eShop account to buy and play games not normally available in the US

At all times take a knife with you on trip

Photo: Claire Lower

My grandfather knew what he was doing when he told me to “always carry a pocket knife”. Spending the last few weeks of summer on the beach? You should use a knife. Hike to a cabin in the mountains? Take a knife. Are you spending some time in a luxury hotel in the middle of a busy city? To take. A knife.

Knives are technically weapons, but they’re also an important tool to use when preparing and / or eating something. Hotel rooms are not equipped with knives, and vacation rentals and secluded huts sometimes “have” them, but the knives in these temporary domiciles are never sharp. (Your knife should be sharp, of course. If not, make sure you sharpen it before you set off on your journey.)

Even if you plan on “not cooking” during your vacation, you are sure you want to eat, and I’m sure you want to eat some in the privacy of your room, cabin, or beach house, away from the prying eyes of the people Publicity. Do you want some nice, local, seasonal fruit? I bet you would really enjoy it if it was cut into pleasant slices (with a knife). Did you buy a fancy cheese or salami earlier in the day? You will need a knife to cut it up. Sharing a festive cake with a loved one? It is knife time.

Aside from eating – which is always my main concern – a sharp knife can help you open stubborn packaging, cut a tangled knot, or Turn an empty Pringles can into a powerful phone speaker. (I did the last maneuver in a field after picking berries and everyone was very impressed.)

You don’t have to limit yourself to one knife, either. I usually take at least two – mine Opinel picnic knife (which has a built-in corkscrew) and a tactical blade that looks very serious (I forget the brand name and don’t feel like pulling it out of my backpack to check). I’m going moose this weekend and I’m taking a third knife – my grandfather’s hunting knife, which is much larger than the other two.

G / O Media can receive a commission

No matter how many knives you take with you, make sure you package them securely and legally. For example, do not put a knife in your hand luggage and enter “Is it legal to carry a knife in it” [whatever state or country you are traveling to]“Into your favorite search engine before you hide it in your pocket. And don’t try to take a knife with you to Disney World or any other theme park. (Personally, I’ve never stabbed anyone, but knives are considered a type of weapon, so treat them accordingly.)

Digital rupee research may begin in December

0

The Reserve Bank of India could launch its first digital currency testing programs by December, Central Bank Governor Shaktikanta Das told CNBC.

Central banks, including those in China, Europe and the UK examine digital currencies that would be issued by them, either to commercial lenders or directly to the public.

They are known as central bank digital currencies or CBDC – legal tender in digital form and are essentially the online version of their respective fiat currencies. In the case of India, that would be the digital rupee.

“We are being extremely careful with it because it is a completely new product, not just for RBI, but worldwide,” Das told CNBC’s Tanvir Gill in a recorded interview on Thursday.

The RBI is studying various aspects of a digital currency, including its security, the impact on India’s financial sector, and the impact on monetary policy and the currency in circulation, the governor said.

That added that the central bank is also considering the choice between a centralized ledger for the digital currency or something called distributed ledger technology (DLT)..

DLT refers to a digital database that enables multiple participants to access, share and record transactions at the same time. A centralized ledger means that the database is owned and operated by a single entity – in this case the central bank.

“I think by the end of the year we should be able – we might be able – to start our first attempts,” Das told CNBC.

His deputy, T Rabi Shankar, said last month the central bank was working on a “phased implementation strategy” for a digital currency.

Covid – no vaccination – poses the best danger of blood clots: examine

A new study has shown that the risk of rare blood clotting is significantly higher from being infected with Covid-19 than from being vaccinated against the virus.

In a peer-reviewed study published Friday in the British Medical Journal, researchers from Oxford University, the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine and several other UK universities and hospitals analyzed data from more than 29 million people who received their first dose of either the Oxford AstraZeneca vaccine or the Pfizer BioNTech vaccine. The study authors were completely independent of the vaccine developers at Oxford-AstraZeneca.

The scientists looked at the frequency of thromboembolic events – blood clots – and thrombocytopenia, a condition with low platelet counts. Rare blood clotting with low platelet counts has been linked to the Oxford-AstraZeneca Covid-19 vaccination.

The paper compared rates of infrequent blood clotting after a first dose of vaccine and after a positive Covid-19 test.

The researchers found that the risk of these side effects after a Covid-19 infection was “significantly higher” than after receiving the Oxford-AstraZeneca or Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine.

The data

In the eight to 28 days after a first dose of the Oxford-AstraZeneca vaccine, researchers found an increased risk of rare blood clotting events and low platelet counts. At the same time after a first dose of the Pfizer BioNTech vaccine, the study found that the risk of blood clots and stroke was increased due to reduced blood flow to the brain (ischemic stroke).

However, these risks were significantly lower than the risks of a Covid 19 infection.

Researchers estimated that 107 out of 10 million people would be hospitalized or die of low platelet counts within 28 days of receiving their first dose of the Oxford-AstraZeneca vaccine. In contrast, that number rose to 934 people per 10 million after testing positive for Covid-19.

Within 28 days of a first dose of the Oxford AstraZeneca vaccine, 66 people per 10 million were hospitalized or died of blood clots in the veins, compared to 12,614 per 10 million people who tested positive for the virus.

Meanwhile, in the 28 days following a first dose of the Pfizer BioNTech vaccine, an estimated 143 people per 10 million were hospitalized or died of ischemic stroke, compared with 1,699 who tested positive for Covid-19.

Even after being infected with the coronavirus, the risks remained higher for longer than after the vaccination, according to the study.

The study analyzed routinely collected electronic health records to assess hospitalization risk for blood clots and low platelet counts within 28 days of infection or vaccination.

The data used in the study were collected across England between December 1, 2020 and April 24, 2021. Patients who were still in hospital at the end of the study were excluded from the study.

Vaccine studies are “unlikely” to discover very rare side effects

All of the Covid-19 vaccines currently in use in the US and UK have been tested in randomized clinical trials that are likely not large enough to detect very rare side effects, researchers found on Friday.

When rare events are uncovered, regulators conduct a risk-benefit analysis to weigh the side effects against the benefits of vaccination, the study authors added.

The UK Joint Vaccination and Immunization Committee has stated time and again that for the vast majority of people, the benefits of the Oxford-AstraZeneca vaccine continue to outweigh the risks.

Several health authorities, including the WHO, the European Medicines Agency and the International Society on Thrombosis and Hemostasis, also agree that the benefits of giving the vaccine outweigh the risks.

“People should be aware of the increased risks after a Covid-19 vaccination and immediately consult a doctor if symptoms occur, but also be aware that the risks of infection with SARS-CoV-2 are significantly higher and over longer periods of time Julia Hippisley-Cox, Professor of Clinical Epidemiology and General Practice at Oxford University and lead author of the article, said in a press release.

“This enormous study has shown that there is a very low risk of clotting and other blood diseases after the first Covid-19 vaccination. Although the risk of these consequences after a SARS-CoV-2 infection is very high, it is indeed serious, “says Aziz Sheikh. , Professor of Research and Development in Primary Care at the University of Edinburgh and co-author of the article, added.

Symptoms to look out for include new, severe headaches that aren’t relieved by common pain relievers, headaches that worsen when you lie down or stoop, unexplained bruising or bleeding, shortness of breath and leg swelling, according to the UK government.

How To Get Your Automotive Mortgage Accepted Rapidly, Cash Information

If you’re not financially gifted, you probably don’t have the disposable income to pay for your car. There are car loans for that. However, applying can be frustrating, especially if you don’t know the requirements.

You buy with your heart, not your head. Most of the time, you already have a pretty good idea of what kind of car you need in your life.

A quick look at the offers in our classifieds and you have found the ideal candidate for you. This is followed by a series of tour and test drive activities that will get your gut feeling down – this is indeed the car for you.

Unless you have funds available for the amount requested by the current owner, you will need to apply for a car loan. We all already know this – the process, which usually takes weeks, always feels a lot longer than it really is.

Especially since you probably would have loved to have had that car in your possession yesterday!

There is an easier way to buy (and sell!) Cars, but more on that in a moment. Let’s focus on minimizing the obstacles that you might encounter on your path to the car loan!

1. Preparation of the necessary documents

As with any business, banks and financial institutions are looking for a return on investment (ROI). Logically, they want to minimize the risk on any loan and ensure that borrowers can raise the required amount to pay off their installments each month.

Make sure you have all of your paperwork under control before starting the whole auto loan process. Have proof of your monthly salary ready – this can be in the form of pay slips, CPF statements, or both.

It’s not uncommon for them to ask for proof of identity / residence as well. Prepare copies of your driver’s license, NRIC and an invoice with your name and address!

2. Know the deposit amount

old

But it’s not just banks that have to worry. The Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) has strict regulations on the maximum loan amount.

[[nid:526586]]

For cars with a market value of $ 20,000 or less, buyers can only loan out up to 60 percent of the total purchase price.

This corresponds to a down payment of 40 percent.

For cars with an OMV value greater than $ 30,000, potential car owners must write a check for 30 percent of the total price of the vehicle.

However, do not think that you only have enough money to pay the deposit; Merchants / banks charge you administration / approval fees that can drive this figure up significantly.

Contact the relevant parties to work out the final figure with all the points taken into account.

3. Total debt service ratio (TDSR)

old

The banks will take into account your monthly salary and the amount of cash you have available after you have paid off all of your existing debts. You can realistically expect approval if you can set aside 20 to 40 percent of your carry-over fee for your car rates.

There are a wide variety of loan calculators available online. Use them to work out the grand total that you can comfortably afford.

You have to be realistic here – exceeding the allotted amount will result in your application being rejected. In this case, you will have to save a few more months to pay off a larger deposit!

4. Creditworthiness

old

Another factor that you shouldn’t overlook in your quest for a loan approval is your creditworthiness. Legally speaking, banks have the option to loan you 70 or 80 percent of the cost of the car in full.

However, poor creditworthiness, triggered by late repayment of other loans or loan defaults overall, can drastically reduce banks’ willingness to borrow.

In this case, you’ll either have to settle for a higher down payment to make up the difference, or work on your credit!

Cent-well spoken …

Waiting for loan approval can be one of the most frustrating aspects of owning a car. But it really doesn’t have to be.

For a less bumpy road to a positive end goal, make sure you are realistic with your loan amount and term, and also keep copies of the papers that prove your financial health.

What the hell are angel numbers (and why is everybody speaking about them)?

0

New trends keep popping up on Instagram or TikTok, which after closer examination are not all that new. Angel numbers are one such “trend”. Do you see digits like 333 and 777 all over your exploration page, or do you hear people mention angel numbers like they’re something serious that everyone suddenly knows about? Don’t worry if you feel like you will be the last at the spiritual social media party. Here’s what you need to know about angel numbers.

What is an angel number?

These days you will tend to see angel numbers all over the gram, so we’ve covered some answers here. A 25 year old New Yorker and tarot card reader walking by @NatalieeNamaste explains in the app: “Angel numbers are divine, recurring numbers or messages that are sent to us by our angels to guide us. I believe the angels use numbers to get our attention during times when we are on the right track or when we need guidance. All numbers have many meanings, but the most important message they all have in common is that our angels are with us and guide us on our journey through life. “

So a number is a number that you see often or at some point in your life. You may have noticed that for some reason you often look at your watch at 3:33 a.m., or you find that you turn to page 44 more often in books than other pages. If the appearance of a number in your life is so persistent that you really notice it, you may find one of those so-called angel numbers that you can then interpret like a dream or a horoscope.

“There is a special feeling when you become aware of a number,” added NatalieeNamaste. That is why some people tend to want to understand the meaning of the numbers that are presented to them. “

Ah yes. The meanings. Like dreams, angel numbers can be interpreted at will, but there are some standard interpretations that most believers adhere to. Let’s look at those.

How to interpret angel numbers

“Yes, there are universally defined angel numbers, but there is also a personal meaning behind these numbers,” explained our guide, who said that she has known consecutive numbers in her life since childhood, but came across a book about angel numbers before something more than a year.

The numbers to look for right away are 111 and 555, “as both are very important to the spiritual journey.” A little googling has shown that 111 symbolizes good news, abundance, and happiness. A 555, said NatalieeNamaste, “indicates changes and release patterns that do not fit into your own life and trust that something better is coming.”

She added that she believes that as you gain confidence on your personal spiritual journey, you will see more sequences of numbers that matter to you. Interpret them however you want.

Here’s a number for you: 372,000. So many posts on Instagram are tagged with #AngelNumbers right now. Tap the tag for a more detailed explanation of what certain numbers usually mean. The number 222 could refer to alignment, the number 333 could refer to support, and the number 444 is meant to indicate protection. Interestingly, 666 is supposedly about reflection, not Satan, which is a pleasant surprise. Angel number 777 is pretty obviously about luck while 888 is about balance and 999 is about release.

What do these mean to you? Only you know, so have fun figuring it out.

What can you do with this new information?

Even if you think this stuff is super weird and definitely not divine, try to be open to daily reminders that you are looked after and that you are on the right track. If a sequence of numbers helps you remind yourself that you are fine and you are headed for big things, great! In the end, it doesn’t matter whether the numbers come from heavenly beings or your own brain – what matters is what you get out of seeing them.

“The most important advice I can give is to follow your intuition when you see angel numbers,” said our expert. “The right definition will appeal to you.”

Photo: fizkes (Shutterstock)

If you’ve ever called 911 you know that one of the first things people ask you – often before even saying why you’re calling – is your location. So, when teaching your kids how to dial emergency numbers on your phone, make sure they know their address as well. A sticker can help.

The CDC recently tweeted an address hack: Stick one of your return shipping labels on your phone. I remember address labels from the days of the landline phone, and it’s still handy to see an address label on a phone that you need to use when ordering a pizza in the office, for example. But you can use this tip for cell phones as well.

Just print or write your address on a sticker or use one of these address labels that you will receive in the mail and stick it on the back of your mobile phone. (Don’t you want to show your address to the world? Open your phone case and tape it in. Just make sure the kids know about it.)

If you haven’t already spoken to your child about how and when to call emergency help, we have a full guide on how to do this here.

G / O Media can receive a commission

It may seem silly to expect that a child old enough to read an address label might not remember their own address, but it does happen, especially when they don’t and don’t have to tell people their address very often present is practicing.

While you’re at it, consider asking grandparents and other caregivers to use mailing labels themselves – either over the phone or by posting their address in a familiar area of the house. This way a child knows if they ever have to call Grandma’s home for an emergency, where they can find the address if they remembers it.

The time to hold a pockets is over

A photo of an iPhone in a wallet with a driver's license, public transport card, library card, and credit card displayed

Photo: Joel Cunningham

The last time I left my apartment with a wallet in my pocket was March 11, 2020 (guess why). I don’t wear one anymore because wallets are bullshit, and you should stop using one too. (If you’re someone who prefers to carry a purse, this advice probably broadly applies – unless you have children, in which case you’ll definitely need to keep an adequate supply of snacks and patches.)

I started carrying a wallet for the first time in college, even though it usually only contained my driver’s license (I didn’t have a car on campus) and eventually a single credit card; Like all the coolest kids, I wore my student ID and room keys on a lanyard around my neck. However, over the decades that followed, I slowly accumulated more rubbish to stay there – extra credit cards, credit cards for stores, gift cards, punch cards for cafes, pictures of my cat, pictures of my kids, and a small tree the value of receipts (so many receipts) – until they were swollen to the proportions of George Costanzan.

Getting minimalist is only half a thing

I kept so much stuff in it that I got back and buttocks ache while sitting – so I took it out before sitting down, which experts say is the best way to lose your wallet (which I used to do a lot). When minimalist purses became fashionable, I tried a new model every few years and usually only kept it until I managed to fill it past its capacity and either break it or find the next Kickstarter, who promised to change my experience in the right back pocket for the better.

But not anymore. The pandemic took a lot of things from me, but it gave me the freedom to carry a brick in my pocket anywhere. Sitting around with no shops or cafe punch cards to replenish has helped me realize that I don’t really go to J.Crew often enough to justify wearing a J.Crew card all the time. I don’t have to carry five normal credit cards with me if I always use the same one. When was the last time I looked at physical copies of my children’s baby pictures? Never. Cash? I rarely use it and mostly forget to go to the ATM anyway.

A wallet phone case is all you need

All I really need to take with me is ID, a single credit card, a debit card, and a train ticket. Everything else is at best a nice to have and not worth the effort. And it all fits in a wallet, which also does me the favor of protecting my phone from drops (although I wouldn’t recommend the one pictured above; if dirt or sand gets in, it will scratch the hell out of the cute colored surface of the iPhone).

This manta of only taking what you need goes well with minimalist wallets too, but even the narrowest wallets are still an extra thing I have to carry. And like all of us with debilitating internet addiction, I never go anywhere without my phone anyway, and the chances are very slim that I will lose it or forget it (and if I do, it’s easy to keep track of– even if it has just fallen into the sofa cushions).

Your cell phone is your wallet

The harder truth – one I’m still working on gaining acceptance – is that I probably won’t even need my wallet anymore. It’s 2021. My phone is basically my wallet.

Since 2012, Apple has been working on turning the iPhone into a hub for all of your credit cards via Apple Wallet, an app that just got more sophisticated over the years. Android devices have similar functions.

Nowadays, any credit card I own can be digitally recreated in a virtual space, along with almost anything I would keep in a wallet, from airline boarding passes to proof of car insurance to mine COVID vaccination card. The MTA recently started accepting tap-and-go smartphone payments. With the introduction of iOS 15, most of the time, I won’t even really need to carry my driver’s license with me – assuming your state is in the program, you can Take a picture of the real thing and save it digitally.

Everything else housed in my former constant pocket companion, which now lives in a drawer on my bedside table? It’s probably on my cell phone or can be: library card, health insurance card, fitness pass, etc. And I’ve definitely never had a wallet with 60,000 pictures of my children. Although, to be honest, I never really look at it either.
