Proffee is the latest nutrition trend from TikTok that combines protein shakes and coffee. It’s not a bad source of protein, but if you think it will be a good alternative to a frappucino, you will likely be disappointed.

A proffee is usually made by mixing a bottled protein shake with cold brewed coffee over ice, although you can use any protein and type of coffee you like. Some people add flavored syrups and even whipped cream.

Does it make a good protein drink?

Protein shakes are a convenient way to include protein in your diet we discussed beforehand. You don’t need a protein shake after your workout (or at any other time). It’s okay to only eat high-protein foods throughout the day. But if you find protein drinks convenient then they are absolutely a hack.

Since most proffee recipes use a bottled protein shake, they contain just as much protein as the shake you are using. Check the label as they vary! ON premier Vanilla shake has 30 grams of protein and 160 calories in 11 ounces while the Atkins version has the same calories but half the protein.

The rest of the shake contains the nutrients you entered. Coffee is very low in calories (around 5 calories in a large cup, unsweetened). Just mixing the shake and some coffee gives you basically the same nutrients as the shake, plus some coffee flavor and loads of water. When you add syrups and whipped cream, you add a lot more sugar and calories.

Does it make a good coffee?

Of all accounts … not really. The Insider team tried a couple of protein coffeesto judge them okay, but not necessarily an improvement over drinking the protein shake itself.

If you have a proffee instead of ordering one of the Starbucks sweetened drinks, which is basically a milkshake, then it probably has better macros. But it doesn’t really taste like a frappucino either. If you want a frappucino this bad, you should probably just order one and adjust the rest of your calories that day if necessary to adjust it.

If you want more protein in your diet, you need to drink proffee regularly to make a difference. Are foods with added protein usually not worthwhile unless you carefully plan them into your diet. If you love proffee, beat yourself up, but don’t think that drinking a glass of it every now and then will make a huge difference in your diet.

Bath bombs have two main functions: They look pretty and they smell good. The sandy, colorful balls transform your bathtub into a swirling, foaming, psychedelic-looking, luxuriously scented body of water as soon as you throw them in the tub. However, for them to work effectively, you should keep them as dry as possible until you are ready to use them.

Bath bombs get their fizz from an acid-base reaction that starts when you expose them to moisture. Think of the baking soda and vinegar volcanoes you made as a kid – this is basically a bath bomb, except the acid is crystallized critic acid (instead of liquid acetic acid) and there are many other ingredients, like moisturizing oils. beautiful dyes and annoying glitter. As soon as this crystallized acid hits the water, it dissolves and begins to interact with the baking soda. Then the magic happens. It takes a fair bit of water to really make things bubble, but sitting in a humid environment (like your bathroom) can cause your bath bomb to deteriorate while it’s waiting to be deployed.

Don’t keep them in your bathroom, I say. There is the water. Instead, keep them in your linen closet, lingerie drawer, or some other fabric container. It keeps the bombs in better condition and gives your sheets, delicates or socks their scent.

Keep the bath bombs in their original packaging or put them in a small brown paper bag and tuck them away in your drawers and cupboards to add a more pleasant scent to the things contained in these rooms. Bonus: it could keep your cats out of your underwear drawer. Cats usually don’t care about the scent, especially if that scent puts a heavy load on the citrus fruits (not sure how they feel about patchouli).

I don’t have time to sit by the fucking campfire, but I still enjoy telling ghost stories. Here’s a trio of macabre stories told by creepy children. The first takes place at the notoriously haunted Cecil Hotel in LA, where Elisa Lam met her terrible end of 2013 in a water tank on the roof. Internet ghoul Khris Star recently visited the Cecil on a ghost hunt and stayed there Elisa Lam’s room, saw that famous elevator opening by itself, heard a voice saying Lam’s name, and posted videos on her TikTok to prove it. *

Our second scary story comes from YouTube, where UK paranormal investigators and urban researchers Danny and Felicity Duffy were looking for the supernatural in an abandoned pub in the woods. Contrary to most mystical inquiries, they actually found something scary – but it wasn’t Haunted, Ghost, Will-o-the-Whisp, or CHUD. It was a actual corpse!

Our third scary story is the scariest of them all. It started last week in New York City when TikToker Samantha Hartsoe noticed a strange breeze behind the bathroom mirror in her apartment. She had to investigate, so she lifted the mirror off the wall and found a whole room beyond. I would have moved out immediately, but Hartsoe, who had never seen Candyman, Parasite, Crawlspace, Bad Ronald, or really any horror movie, climbed through the hole and found an entire unfinished apartment. Fortunately, the deformed cannibals who live behind her bathroom mirror were outside for the night so Hartsoe got away with her life. You can check out the entire four part saga on Hartsoes TikTok.

Celebrities You’ve Never Heard Of: The Weird World of CodeMiko

When I fell into CodeMiko’s rabbit hole, I felt like I’d wandered away from Grampa Simpson’s retirement home and into a distant future where nothing makes sense and I have an onion on my belt. CodeMiko is a “virtual streamer” on Twitch, a 3D digital avatar who dives into a video game-style world, chatting with fans, and doing live interviews with other streamers and the occasional mainstream celebrity. She’s not the first to do this – that’s probably Max Headroom – but CodeMiko is taking the VTube genre in a new and meta-direction.

First, there is the fan interactions. For a little money, her fans can change CodeMiko’s environment in real time in chat rooms – flash messages on her chest, blow things up in her room, and even murder her with an atomic bomb – while she showered her guest with rapid fire, bat – crazy interview questions.

To add another layer to the craziness, there is “The Technician,” who is reputed to be CodeMiko’s creator, the woman who codes Miko’s world and dons a motion capture suit to portray it. Unlike most VTubers, CodeMiko makes no secret of their “real” identity and publishes frequent, informal videos that step through the fourth wall and show you how the virtual sausage is made … if you believe what the technician says, of course .

It seems sincere enough, but the whole thing is so recursive and postmodern that I don’t trust any of it is more “real” than anything else. Overall, I don’t really know what to make of it other than it makes me feel incredibly old. But Give it a try if you want to look into the futurebut do it quickly. CodeMiko’s aggressive style could have her banned from Twitch … unless that’s part of the plot, too.

The videographer and actor Brian David Gilbert has sporadically published clever, engaging videos on YouTube for the past four years. He has a fan base of nearly a million subscribers with semi-absurd comedy videos like “Buy my bed” and “Let’s get good at darts, ”But lately Gilbert has turned to darkness and horror. His latest video, “Teach Jake about the camcorder, Jan ’97” is a horror film told in a single shot by a camcorder from the 1990s. Measured by the number of people who share it, this story of grief, existential terror, and outdated technology resonates with people in a viral way. I don’t want to spoil it with a description, but if you love storytelling this is for you.

This Week In Movies: ‘Space Jam: New Legacy’ Details Revealed

Weekly entertainment has released tons of details about the long awaited sequel to Space Jam: New Legacy. The follow-up to the 1997 hit Space Jam stars basketball stars LeBron James and Don Cheadle, as well as the entire collection of Looney Tunes favorites like Bugs Bunny and Daffy Duck.

Whether James can fill Space Jam star Michael Jordan’s sneakers is an open question, but the sequel seems at least one of a kind. James is drawn into the virtual world of Warner Brothers servers, where he interacts with WB intellectual property such as Wonder Woman, Mad Max and Casablanca. There will also be a climatic basketball game against strange cartoon monsters, bet on it.

The movie hits theaters and HBO Max on July 16, but you should see it on the big screen when it’s safe around you. It may be too much to expect the magic of Space Jam to repeat itself, but seeing LeBron Dunk on cartoon monsters should be seen in as large a format as possible … and I haven’t been in a movie in a year, so definitely i hope to leave my house for this one.

WhatsApp finally lets you do it Voice and video calls to and from the desktop app. The feature works on Windows 10 version 1903 and later, as well as MacOS 10.13 and later, and allows you to call all of your contacts while they are online and using a compatible smartphone, tablet, or computer.

To make or participate in WhatsApp calls on desktop, you will need:

• A PC with Windows 10 version 1903 (or newer) or MacOS 10.13 (or newer).
• The latest version of WhatsApp for Windows 10 or Mac.
• A microphone – either your laptop’s internal microphone or one that’s plugged into your computer.
• A camera (if you want to use video calling).
• You must also be logged into your WhatsApp account on a smartphone. Desktop calls are not handled by your phone, but you must have a call to use the feature.

If you have all the necessary devices, here’s how you can call your WhatsApp contacts on the desktop:

1. In the WhatsApp window, select the contact you want to call to open the chat.
2. Choose Call or Video call.
3. When the other person picks up, the call begins.

Incoming call controls are the same as on mobile devices: click the microphone to mute or unmute it. The camera icon turns your video on / off. The red button ends the call. You can also switch to video chat while on a call by clicking the camera icon during a voice call. The other person is asked to accept or cancel the request. If they answer, the call will be switched to video.
