One of Chrome’s best features for staying organized is Android: the almighty “tab groups” that allow you to group your tabs into more useful chunks rather than randomly spreading them out on separate pages across your browser or on your phone. However, you may need to enable a semi-hidden flag on your browser to access this useful feature today.

First, make sure you’re running the latest version of chrome Can be updated on your Android device via the Google Play Store. Then start the browser and enter it in the address bar: chrome: // flags

You will be taken to a screen that looks like this:

Do a quick search for “Tab Grid” and tap the drop-down menu for Grid layout tab Highlight and choose the regular “Enabled” option. Restart Chrome and tap the box to the right of your address bar to open up a few new tabs. You will immediately see that they are now arranged in a grid instead of showing pages stacked one on top of the other.

You can also tap the group itself and use the “+” symbol to add new tabs as you wish. To group multiple tabs at once without having to long-press individually, tap the three-dot icon in the top right corner of this screen and select the new one Group tabs Possibility. You can then just tap on any free tabs you want to group in a group and then tap group Button to make them new friends.

In a normal Chrome window, long-pressing a hyperlink will bring up the option to open the new tab in a group:

Tap on it and the original page you viewed will now be grouped together with the new link that you long pressed. You’ll see icons for both at the bottom of your Chrome browser. This is the easy way to navigate between tabs in your group. You can use that too “+” Icon on the right to quickly add more tabs.

If you don’t like the grid layout or the tab groups, you can of course deactivate the function at any time Grid layout tab Flag as before. Just set it to “disabled” and your browser will revert to its previous state for the time being.

Black Lives Matter: Within the phrases of Ciara, Lizzo and different stars

0

Black lives count.

They are words that you have undoubtedly seen all over the internet. A simple phrase that directly means that blacks’ lives matter. That they need to be protected, valued, respected, not systematically targeted or destroyed.

An idea that is so simple, yet one of the most talked about at dining tables, on news panels, and on your social media feeds where answers like “All life matters” are discussed.

What is it about of course? All lives do and should play a part, but it is the blacks who are historically under attack, like the death of George Floyd made painfully clear again last summer.

Many a metaphor has been used to illustrate this. In a 2019 Harper’s Bazaar play called “Why You Need to Stop Saying” All Lives Matter “- an academic, writer, and lecturer Rachel Cargle explained, “If a patient who was rushed to the emergency room after an accident should point to their mutilated leg and say, ‘This is important now,’ and the doctor saw the scratches and bruises in other areas and countered, ‘But everything. ” Of you it is important, ‘There would be no question why he is not urgently helping to support what is most at risk? “

Silver futures are up greater than 7% as Reddit merchants strive their squeeze sport with the steel

0

Silver futures contracts rose early Monday morning as the Reddit-fueled boom in high-short stocks appeared to spill over into the metal market.

Silver futures rose 8% shortly after the futures market opened. This was the biggest move in futures since at least 2013. Spot silver prices recently rose more than 7.5%, trading at $ 29.04 an ounce.

The sharp rise adds earnings to silver and silver-related stocks late last week. Coeur Mining and Pan American Silver silver mining stocks rose 16.9% and 14.7%, respectively, on Thursday and Friday. The iShares Silver Trust rose 6.7% in those two sessions.

The surge in demand for silver appears to be related to retailers on the Reddit forum WallStreetBets, which has helped fuel trading activity in the past few weeks with sharply shortened stocks like GameStop and AMC Entertainment.

The forum had several active topics devoted to silver on Sunday evening. The phrase “#silversqueeze” was also trending on Twitter.

The move towards silver has been touted by investors who are optimistic about cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin and who see the new digital assets in some cases as replacements for traditional metals.

Cameron Winklevoss, co-founder of cryptocurrency company Gemini, said on Twitter: “The impact of a #silversqueeze is not to be underestimated. If it turns out that there are more paper claims on silver than on actual silver, it would not only pay off enormously, but gold too would be next. #Bitcoin fixes that. “

The dramatic spikes in GameStop and other sharply downturned stocks were partly due to brief pressures. This is a phenomenon in which investors who have bet against a stock are forced to buy stocks to cover their positions when the name goes up.

Melvin Capital, one of the hedge funds that were originally short in GameStop, lost 53% in January.

Find out how to clear the within of your windshield: even the grease

It’s no secret that the outside of your vehicle’s windshield can get very dirty very quickly. Having windshield wipers and cleaning fluid on the go definitely helps, but sometimes the stains that make it difficult to see come from inside the vehicle.

The inside of your windshield might not seem like something that gets touched frequently, but between fingerprints that point out instructions, handprints that wipe away mist, and dog noses and tongue prints, it can get pretty greasy and gross. Then there is the dust, hair, dead skin, and saliva mist that comes with people sitting in a vehicle. And that doesn’t even take into account situations where someone smokes in their car.

How do you clean the inside of your windshield to make sure your drive is as safe as possible? Here’s what to know, courtesy of Tony Markovich on the drive.

Illustration for article titled How To Clean The Inside Of Your Windshield, Even If It's The Greasiest

What you need

First, collect the supplies you need, both for safety and for work. These include::

  • safety goggles
  • Nitrile gloves
  • New microfiber towels (avoid paper towels)
  • Hand tool for microfiber extension
  • spray bottle
  • Dish soap (but not too much as it will take forever to rinse)
  • Alcohol solution (made from alcohol, white vinegar and water)
  • Car-specific glass cleaner (no ammonia)
  • towel

What should I do

First, park the car somewhere on a flat surface in the shade and place a regular towel over the dashboard (to collect dirt and drips). Now, take one of the (dry) microfiber cloths and gently wipe the windshield to remove as much dust as possible before you start wet cleaning.

From here you can go two ways: one for regular, routine cleaning and one for thorough cleaning and degreasing of your windshield. Here are both options courtesy of Markovich on the drive::

Routine cleaning

  1. Spray your ammonia-free car-specific window cleaner directly onto the microfiber cloth or window cleaning tool.
  2. Wipe the glass vertically up to halfway down the glass, starting on one side and working your way to the other.
  3. With wide, wide strokes, wipe the same side of the windshield horizontally.
  4. Wipe this side of the window clean with a dry microfiber cloth and dry with long, even strokes.
  5. Repeat steps 1 through 4 on the other side.
  6. Now take care of them outside of your car.

Get rid of the fat

A glass cleaner should do the job most of the time, but some people prefer to use their own homemade cleaning solutions to ensure complete grease removal. Use one of these DIY cleaning solutions in a spray bottle:

  • One cup of water, one cup of alcohol, 1 tablespoon of white vinegar
  • One part vinegar, one part water
  • Four parts water, one part vinegar, a few drops of washing-up liquid
  1. Spray your cleaning solution directly onto the microfiber cloth or window cleaning tool.

Ideally, you’ll get to the point where all you have to do is run the quick version. However, this does mean that you need to regularly clean the inside of your windshield. Editorial at The drive suggest Do this every time you clean / detail the rest of your car.

The previous advisor to Biden Covid warns of a rise in Covid circumstances

Dr. Michael Osterholm, Regent Professor, McKnight Presidential Endowed Chair of Public Health and Director of the Center for Research and Policy on Infectious Diseases at the University of Minnesota, announced advances on COVID-19 testing in Minnesota at St. Paul, MN.

An epidemiologist who advised President Joe Biden’s transition to the Covid-19 crisis warned on Sunday of an impending wave of infections and said the US should adjust its vaccination strategy to save lives.

“We have to give an acoustic signal, I think there is no doubt about it,” said Dr. Michael Osterholm on NBC’s “Meet the Press”. He used a metaphor from soccer to describe the changing plans on the fly.

Osterholm said the administration should try to give as many initial vaccine doses as possible, especially for those over 65 years of age, before there can be a potential spike in cases related to mutations overseas.

The two federally approved vaccines are given in two doses three weeks apart. Osterholm suggested that his plan might require delaying the second dose.

“The fact is the surge that is likely to occur with this new variant from England is going to happen in the next six to 14 weeks. And when we see that, my 45 years in the trenches tell me we’re going to do it, We’re going to see something like we’ve never seen in this country, “said Osterholm.

“We still want to get two doses each, but I think right now, before this surge, we need to get as many doses as possible in as many people over 65 as possible to reduce serious illnesses and deaths in the coming weeks,” added Osterholm added. He said that data supports the idea that those who get their second dose later might get better results.

The variant of coronavirus first identified in the UK has been linked to faster transmission and can be more deadly. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has warned that the variant could be the dominant strain in the US by March.

Osterholm is the director of the Center for Infectious Disease Research and Policy at the University of Minnesota. He was a member of the Covid-19 Advisory Board of the Biden transition team, which disbanded when Biden was inaugurated earlier this month.

The White House did not return a request for comment on Osterholm’s remarks on Sunday.

The number of new coronavirus cases and hospitalizations every day has fallen sharply in recent weeks, although the total remains high. The monthly death toll from the virus hit a record high in January.

The United States has an average of more than 3,000 deaths from the virus and more than 150,000 infections every day, according to a CNBC analysis of data from Johns Hopkins University.

Osterholm suggested that the decreasing number of cases and hospitalizations could create a false sense of security and that these numbers would rise again if communicable mutations became more prevalent across the country.

“You and I are sitting on this beach, which is 70 degrees, perfectly blue skies, light breezes, but I see this hurricane – Category 5 or higher – 450 miles offshore,” Osterholm told host Chuck Todd. “Telling people to evacuate on the beautiful blue-sky day will be difficult. But I can also tell you the hurricane is coming.”

The federal vaccine rollout, which got off to a rocky start, has accelerated in recent weeks. Nearly 25 million people have received at least one dose of vaccine, according to CDC data, with around 5 million receiving both doses. Biden has pledged to meet a goal of 100 million doses administered within its first 100 days.

Pretend parking attendant at Bristol Zoo “cheated guests out of cash for 20 years”

At the time, Bristol Zoo believed the man worked for the local council while the local authority believed he worked for the zoo.

Bristol Zoo has kept saying this is not true, but a research group has now tried to explain where the urban myth came from.

The Downs for People campaign group has always objected to the zoo and used the nearby Downs as additional parking.

The group has said that some people would head out to the Downs and collect voluntary donations from visitors, but no one knows where the money is going.

During their research, they also found the name of a man, Mr. SW Barrett, who had been overseeing the parking since 1978.

POPULAR MYTH

You are now trying to track down the man or his relatives to find out more about his time there and the popular myth.

Downs for People have tried to stop the use of the Downs opposite the entrance to Bristol Zoo as overflow parking.

The land has been leased to the zoo by the Downs Committee for decades for temporary use on busy days, Bristol Live reports.

The campaign group is preparing to take the Downs Committee and Bristol City Council to court arguing that the Downs should not be used for parking but should be kept for people to use for recreation.

While researching the court case, Downs for People said they found evidence that some people collected parking from motorists who parked on the Downs to visit the zoo.

However, the archives did not seem to clarify how the money was used or to whom it was given.

The group’s spokeswoman, Susan Carter, told Bristol Live: “There is truth behind the myth of Bristol’s parking attendant at the Phantom Zoo.

“For nearly thirty years, from 1958 to the mid-1980s, and probably 30 years earlier, people were able to make a living as park rangers and collect ‘voluntary’ donations from drivers who park on uneven ground outside the zoo.

“Anyone is unlikely to have made a fortune, and from 1958 onwards, participants were authorized by either the Downs Committee or, from 1983, the zoo (likely – then confusion may have arisen).

“It’s not clear when the voluntary donation system ended: participants didn’t wear uniforms until 1988 when a system of parking stickers was introduced.”

We talked about it last week “Slow TV” and marked a card the world where you can find different clips by location. In case you missed it, here is how Alan Henry described “Slow TV”. in a 2016 Lifehacker article::

Things like long train rides through the countryside, relaxing views of canal rides, crackling fireplaces, quiet video of people knitting, and so on. These are all things you can do in the background while you work, concentrate, or just relax … the air of a perfectly normal event from start to finish.

Let’s say you traveled the world via these videos and now you need something that is out of this world. Now, could we suggest something else to add to your slow TV list: this four-hour real-time orbit of the moon. Here’s how to watch this video and what you will see.

How to orbit the moon from home

And this isn’t Doran’s first foray into video of real-time orbits: he created something similar in 2018, just with one orbit of the earth in 90 minutes. (Granted, it’s a little more interesting than the moon video because you can pretend you’re on a plane and looking out the window.)

The orbit video was created using images captured by the International Space Station.
