Every year Apple adds new features to the iPhone and iPad operating systems to Notifications a bit more manageable. iOS 15 is no different. This time around, Apple has removed the old “Shipment Quiet” feature and replaced it with the Notification Summary, which gives you even more control over how and when your phone is bothering you.

Think of it as a notification summary: every morning or evening (or anytime in between) you’ll get a single notification listing all of the day’s notifications from apps you’ve added to the summary feature.

This allows you to mute and view your notifications too – albeit delayed and repackaged so they don’t get in the way of your really important notifications.

To begin, open the “settings”App on your iPhone or iPad (you need to be running iOS 15 or iPadOS 15, that is currently in public beta). Go to Notifications > Planned summary and activate “Planned summary” represent.

You can keep the default times for morning and evening, or you can tap the time to change when your summary is delivered. You can also add additional summaries to be delivered at different times of the day by clicking the “Add summary“Button.

Of the “Apps in summary“You can enable the apps that want to send notifications directly to the notification summary.

Once added, you won’t annoy these apps with a notification sound or vibration every time a new notification comes in.

You can also quickly add an app to the notification summary itself from the Notification Center itself: swipe left on a notification, tapOptions“Button and select the”Add to summary” Opportunity.

The next time a summary is due, your iPhone will display a large section of the notification summary at the top of your notifications list. Tap the field to expand it and see all notifications in the summary.

If you later want to remove an app from the summary, swipe left on the notification in the notification summary and tapOptions“Button and select the”Deliver immediately” Opportunity.
