Sunny hostess shares her personal considerations Derek Chauvin found guilty in death of George Floyd.
After a Minneapolis jury pronounced her guilty verdict on Tuesday, April 20, the journalist appeared on ABC News and emotionally debated what the decision meant for her and her loved ones. This included thinking about her 18 year old son Gabriel, one of two children she shares with her husband Emmanuel host.
“I am the mother of an 18-year-old boy who is now in South Africa and I feel that he is safer in South Africa than in his own country,” Sunny admitted. “I’m so relieved that justice finally looks like this for my church.”
The View co-host, 52, continued, “And while I know this will not bring George Floyd back to his family, loved ones … I really believe this is a movement that we have seen and for that I am so, so grateful that maybe we will see real change – much needed change – in this country. “
