The uprising begins on April 28th.

At this time, the fourth season of The Handmaid’s Tale will be on Hulu and in June (Elisabeth Moss) now wages war against Gilead after fleeing. The trailer promises an intense war, and the season description shows that the fight in June will be extremely personal.

“June strikes back against Gilead as a bitter rebel leader, but the risks she takes bring unexpected and dangerous new challenges,” the Hulu Logline read. “Their pursuit of justice and vengeance threatens to consume them and destroy their most cherished relationships.”

In a TV Critics Association virtual panel Thursday, Moss teased that both June and the vicious Aunt Lydia (Ann Dowd) both seek power “in very different ways and with different goals”. The season explores what “real strength” means, depending on who has it.

Showrunner Bruce Miller stated that Lydia is “obsessed” with June and that while these two women are enemies, they are also “inextricably linked” and that is what plays out this season.
