In recent years, a handful of states and smaller cities have tried to get members of the remote workforce to give up their big city lives (and rents) to move to their city – and lure them in with everything from cash to country Cycles. While these offers used to be tempting, many office workers have not had the opportunity to move to a new city and keep their jobs.
But now, more than a year after realizing that their employees are not children who do nothing when the boss is not in the room, the idea of packing up and starting over Tulsa, Northwest Arkansas, or Vermont It’s not just engaging – it’s a possibility for more people than ever before. And now, shopping for a new hometown vying for residence just got easier thanks to a new website that brings all the information you need in one place.
How to look for a new city
The website is called MakeMyMove.comand it works like an online marketplace. Churches that seek breathe new life into (likely) once bustling cities and towns. You can create entries and let remote workers know that they are looking for transplants and are ready to shell out some perks. On the flip side, people interested in moving elsewhere can look into their options.
G / O Media can receive a commission
37 municipalities are currently looking for new residents. Users can either Scroll through the listingsor narrow your search by region, location type (rural, urban, suburban), or perks (cash, tax credit, money for a home, etc.).
And if you had something specific in mind and didn’t see it as an option, there is a feature on the website that allows users to design their own train and set the terms themselves. The MakeMyMove team will then contact the executives of that city and see if they can develop an incentive package that suits your needs.
