Former Chase Australia candidates may withhold their winnings in the ongoing case of former host Andrew O’Keefe being attacked.
Larry Emdur was named the new host of the Channel 7 contest over the weekend, but according to The Australian, the network has already filmed a handful of episodes that still feature O’Keefe.
Recorded episodes may need to be discarded as O’Keefe’s domestic violence charges against ex-partner Dr. Orly Lavee is going to court. Sources describe the situation as “flowing”.
Given the show’s contractual terms, the network will only pay attendees prize money if its episode is aired. Those who won with O’Keefe on top may not have anything.
Channel 7 did not respond to news.com.au’s request for comment.

It comes when O’Keefe, arrested and charged with an alleged domestic assault in January, was fired from the network late last year.
Larry Emdur was announced as his replacement over the weekend. The star said he saw the move as “an exciting new challenge in my career that I was probably thinking more about unwinding”. The Australian reports on Emdurs Episodes will be filmed in March.
