Do you like sweets? Do you have any opinions? Are you looking for a job? If you answered “yes” to all three questions, you may want to learn more about a position that can earn you cash for tasting candy. And no, this isn’t one of those “dream job” competitions – it’s an actual role at a candy company. Here’s what you need to know.
The position
There is not just one job to be given: Candy funhouse hires 10 people to try candy. Two of these positions are full-time positions (8-hour shifts) and the other eight part-time positions (15 hours per week). They all pay $ 30 an hour.
Although both ads indicate that the positions can be filled remotely, it also states that for the full-time position, candy tasting must be done in person – presumably in Mississauga, Ontario, where the company is based. This is a bit confusing, but when you get to it, will you cross that bridge I think?
And here’s what the jobs involve:
Taste test for confectionery
- Try the samples objectively
- Take into account aspects of taste, texture and quality
- The full-time position requires a personal taste test
- Part-time, confectionery will be shipped remotely
Brief product description and evaluation
- The candidates follow our internal rating system for confectionery
- A brief description in two sentences is required for each product tested
- These descriptions can be found on our website and on social media

The requirements
According to the ad, it will favor applicants interested in candy, pop culture and media. Here are the other qualifications required for the job:
- A high school diploma
- Basic writing skills
- Good communication skills
- Fluent in English
- Passion for confectionery
- Be a U.S. or Canadian citizen
- No food allergies
- Be at least 18 years old
No candy-specific experience is required.
