With all of the quarantine cleaning done over the past year when we were stuck at home with little else to do, your 2021 spring cleaning could be an easy lift. On the flip side, you may have gone a little overboard with online shopping this year – both for necessity and as a stress reliever – and have built up additional clutter in your home.
And so now Blue Moon (Makers of that one beer your aunt likes – you know, the one with the orange slice) and Joanna Teplin and Clea Shearer, founders of the organizing company The home editing, have a suggestion for you: donate some of the items in your house that don’t have to be there and get a chance to win a beer in exchange. Here’s how to get the trash out of your house and pick up a beer.
How to trade clutter for beer
The Process is pretty simple::
- Follow @bluemoonbrewco on Instagram and Twitter
- Snap a photo of six items you identified for a donation and shared on your Instagram or Twitter public feed, including the hashtags #LightSkyLightenUp and #sweeps. When posting on Instagram, tag @bluemoonbrewco too. You must also follow Blue Moon by April 30, 2021 to be eligible.
- Download a free shipping label here (Up to 330 labels are available, subject to availability.) Then wrap up your goods and send them off for donation. (If the labels are gone, drop off your items at a local donation center.)

One participant will be selected at random to win a one-on-one virtual organizing session with The Home Edit staff. Then 165 Twitter posts and 165 Instagram posts will be selected to win the beer award – though that comes in the form of a $ 15 Venmo payment (not that we’re complaining).
