Chancellor Angela Merkel will announce that Germany will extend its lockdown until March 14, amid concerns about new strains of the coronavirus.

A draft document appeared early Wednesday setting out plans between Merkel and state officials to maintain the lockdown and urge citizens to maintain socially distant rules, but gradually lift some restrictions in the coming weeks.

The reopening of schools is a priority for the German leadership, although due to the federal system of the country the individual federal states can be expected to be able to decide how to do this. Stores and hotels could start reopening next month in areas where infection rates are also low. The restrictions should end on February 14th.

There are concerns in Germany about the spread of more contagious variants of the virus, particularly the mutation that was first discovered in the UK last fall. However, the daily number of new infections in Germany has fallen as public life continues to be blocked across the country.

The Robert Koch Institute, a public health institution, reported 8,072 new coronavirus cases and 813 deaths on Wednesday. This brought the total number of infections to around 2.3 million and the death toll to 62,969.

German lawmakers reportedly described the situation as “very fragile” on Wednesday.

Slow rollout of the EU

The slow introduction of coronavirus vaccines in Germany and the rest of the EU is a problem for the federal government, which is an important pillar of the bloc. The EU has been slower than the UK and US to order vaccines from major drug manufacturers and has faced supply shortages.

The longer the introduction of vaccinations, the longer the economic damage is expected from lockdowns. According to the GDP data published in January for the full year (gross domestic product), the German economy contracted by 5% in 2020.

Ludovic Subran, Allianz’s chief economist, told CNBC on Wednesday that the slow roll-out of vaccinations could seriously hurt the EU’s growth prospects in 2021.

“I’m getting a little nervous and we are only in February that we miss the boat here, that the vaccination is the best investment and we should put all our forces (efforts) there,” he told CNBC’s “Street Signs Europe”.

“Our projections show that Europe won’t return to pre-crisis (growth) levels until 2022. Then we saw the vaccination chaos and started thinking, ‘OK, we’re really jeopardizing the recovery here’ … the problem is we’re vaccinating four times here slower than the UK and US, “he said, adding,” This is really a big problem as it will make or break the 2021 GDP recovery for Europe. “

While it is easy to convince yourself of something else, heartfelt gifts need not take the form of a grand gesture or extravagant affection. Sure, the wow factor is good from time to time, but if you prefer something finer, it’s hard to argue against a beautiful photo collage. At a time when it feels a little unconventional to create new memories, Valentine’s Day is a great time to reflect on the moments that made you and your special someone smile and laugh together. With a photo collage, you can relive all your favorite memories and display them whenever you need to take a quick detour into the past.

Wow your loved ones with a photo collage this Valentine’s Day

Not only do collages put a smile on your loved one’s face, but they’re also easy to create and fun to customize so you can make them your own without taking on another big project. All you need is a whiteboard, a couple of pins, a printer, and a couple of smiling photos.

There are plenty of photo-friendly printers to choose from, but personally I’m a fan of them Polaroid bluetooth printer. Sure, you don’t need a pocket printer to get your pictures onto a blackboard, but it’s a great way to print pictures on the fly without having to lug around a few extra devices. Since the connection to your phone is established via Bluetooth, you do not have to take any pictures on site. All you have to do is choose your favorite shots, make the changes necessary to lighten things up, and print to your heart’s content.

Once you’ve printed your images, all that’s left to do is find a place to put them all. Since you can swap things out however you want, I would recommend using a bulletin board and some push pins. A simple board shouldn’t cost a lot, but for a special occasion the added pizazz of a decorative board can’t hurt. This one from PinPix There are several prints available that will add a more pleasing backdrop to your photos than brown spots, and there are enough sizes to fit where on the wall you want to cover up.

After you’ve curated your favorite shots, printed them all, and placed them in exactly the right places on your board, it’s time to back it up. However, any set of push pins is sufficient This set from AmazonBasics has a smaller head so you don’t cover too much of your pictures and they look a bit cleaner too.

It may seem like a simple gift, but we’ve all had a rough year and pondering our warmest memories can bring back the same joy we felt living them – this goes much further than a box of chocolates.

The South Korean younger investor with 43% revenue is the brand new image for retail, Cash Information

SEOUL – Watching the business news first is a new routine for 12-year-old South Korean Kwon Joon, who dreams of becoming the next Warren Buffett after gaining superb returns of 43 from a hobby that started just last year Percent: buy shares.

Kwon harassed his mother last April into opening a retail account with savings of 25 million won (S $ 29,800) as seed capital, just as the benchmark KOSPI index began to recover from its biggest decline in a decade.

“I really persuaded my parents to do this because I believed an expert who said (on TV) this was a once in a lifetime opportunity,” said Kwon, who made the steepest jump among MSCI country indices at year-end.

“My role model is Warren Buffett,” he added in a reference to the US billionaire.

“Instead of focusing on short-term day trading, I want to hold my investment for 10 to 20 years with a long-term perspective, hopefully to maximize my return.”

South Korea’s rookie investors like Kwon, who value invested in blue-chip stocks with money sourced from gifts, trading mini-car toys, and running vending machines, have retailed in soared.

More retail investors are teenagers or younger, accounting for more than two-thirds of the total value traded in the country’s stocks, up from less than 50 percent in 2019.

The trend has grown as the stock markets disillusion parents with the education system and home-working millennials.

“I wonder these days if a college degree would be that important,” said Kwon’s mother, Lee Eun-joo, who fueled his passion by exposing him to business rather than teaching, which was seen as the key to earning science advance .

“Because we are now living in a different world, it might be better to become a ‘single’ person,” added Lee, who feared that even a good schooling would not prepare her son for dwindling job opportunities.

Around 70 percent of the 214,800 underage stockbrokerage deals at Kiwoom Securities, South Korea’s most retail-friendly brokerage with a market share of more than a fifth, were established in January 2020 or later.

Kwon, who had time during school closings for the pandemic last year, created a wish list of purchases made during the market corrections.

These ranged from South Korea’s largest messenger app operator Kakao Corp. via the world’s largest memory chip manufacturer Samsung Electronics Co. to Hyundai Motor.

Kwon’s success also reflects the employment challenges facing young South Koreans, despite being among the most educated cohorts in the OECD Advanced Nations Club.

Wednesday’s data showed that the unemployment rate for young Koreans between the ages of 15 and 29 rose to a new record of 27.2 percent in January as jobs disappeared at the fastest pace in two decades amid coronavirus containment conditions.

Three-fourths go to college after high school, compared to the group average of 44.5 percent, but finding rewarding, creative work is difficult.

“There aren’t enough jobs for college graduates, so many choose to diversify their careers early on,” said career researcher Min Sook-weon.

Kwon understands that.

“Instead of going to good schools like Seoul National University, I’d rather be a big investor,” he said. “I also hope to do a lot of charity work.”

share administrator roles on a LinkedIn Web page

Manage your Business presence on LinkedIn requires teamwork, but if you don’t really know and trust your coworkers, you probably don’t enjoy sharing the company’s LinkedIn page password with someone else so they can post updates.

Thankfully, LinkedIn now lets you add other users as administrators for any page you own. With these new management tools, you can give other people the ability to post updates and manage new job openings for your company from their personal account. You never have to log in to the site.

There are obvious privacy benefits to using LinkedIn’s new admin roles. However, they can also help you organize your business by assigning administrator rights based on someone’s role in the company.

There are two types of administrators you can create for a LinkedIn Page: Site administratorswho maintain the content and communication of the site, and Paid media administrators Who can create and manage ads and sponsored content for a page? Each type has a role hierarchy that grants the administrator different roles and permissions. Here is a brief explanation from each:

Lengthy-distance Covid signs must be a “wake-up name” for younger individuals, says the Texas Youngsters’s physician

0

Around 10 to 30% of all Covid patients suffer from long-distance symptoms. Sinais Center for Aftercare. These numbers should be a “wake up call” for young people and motivate them to avoid infection, said Dr. Peter Hotez of Texas Children’s Hospital on CNBC’s “The News with Shepard Smith”.

Patients with post-acute Covid syndrome typically suffer from severe fatigue, shortness of breath, digestive problems, “brain fog” and a racing heart. Some may even develop type 1 diabetes after contracting Covid, said Dr. Hotez. Endocrinologists are still trying to understand exactly why this is happening.

Another question that researchers still cannot answer is whether long-distance symptoms will remain in Covid patients for the rest of their lives. Millions of Americans are already infected, according to Hotez, and those who experienced mild symptoms and were able to stay home to recover are most likely to have problems with post-acute Covid syndrome later, according to later research.

Of all the lingering effects of Covid, Hotez said to Smith, “The ones that worry me most are the cognitive deficits. We call it ‘brain fog’ which makes it sound like it’s not that serious, but it is. You know people have it. ” terrible difficulty concentrating and that’s why it was so devastating because it’s difficult for people to get back to work. “

The post-acute Covid syndrome will have a significant impact on the economy and the health system, said Hotez. Covid has a “severe psychiatric burden”, even for people who were not infected. They can suffer from “post-traumatic stress” from losing a loved one, earning a living, or simply dealing with pandemic living conditions.

“As horrific as the deaths are and as heartbreaking as the deaths, this will be just one of many pieces of Covid-19 that will be with us. It’s also a wake-up call for young people,” Hotez said.

Robinhood lobbying targets legal guidelines that would have an effect on the enterprise mannequin

Robinhood is preparing to lobby for important pieces of legislation the adoption of which could weigh on the business model.

The stock trading startup registered its in-house team to begin lobbying on February 5th. This comes out from a new registration report that has been reviewed by CNBC.

The filing gives an initial glimpse into the legislation the startup is targeting after Joe Biden became president and Democrats took control of Congress. Some of the bills in the registration report could adversely affect Robinhood’s revenue model of benefiting from customer business.

One of the bills Robinhood wants to focus on is the Wall Street Tax Act of 2019. It was introduced two years ago by Rep. Peter DeFazio, D-Ore., And Senator Brian Schatz, D-Hawaii, with a view to On Certain financial transactions, including the purchase of stocks, bonds, and derivatives, are subject to an excise duty of 0.1%.

A trade tax was introduced to curb some of the frenzied activity of the past few weeks. Less trading could weigh on the profits of Robinhood and other large online brokerage firms.

Although Robinhood and the rest of the industry don’t charge a fee for this, they rely on what is known as payment for the flow of orders instead of commissions. Market makers like Citadel Securities or Virtu pay e-brokers for the right to conduct customer trades. The broker then receives a small fee for the routed stocks, which can add up to millions if customers are as active as they have been in recent months.

Robinhood has grown into one of the most valuable private startups in Silicon Valley. It was last valued at $ 11.7 billion, with supporters like Sequoia and Andressen Horowitz. Despite the trading chaos and setback in January, several venture capital investors told CNBC the company was still on its way to an IPO in 2021.

A Robinhood spokeswoman declined to comment on the lobbying plans.

GameStop exam

Robinhood’s business model has come under fire from lawmakers and some traders after the company and other brokers restricted the buy side of deals for volatile stocks like GameStop on their platforms in late January. Robinhood said it hadn’t taken a step due to outside pressure and was forced to restrict trading due to unprecedented demands on its clearinghouse’s collateral.

GameStop’s share price had risen in late January after Reddit traders pushed each other to further double purchases of stocks and hurt hedge funds that had taken over the other side of the trade by short selling.

Short selling is a strategy in which investors borrow shares of a stock at a certain price in hopes that the market value will drop below that level when it is time to pay off the borrowed shares. Buying back borrowed stocks to close out a short position, be it profit or loss, is known as short covering.

Robinhood has since lifted the boundaries of trade.

Lawmakers from both major parties criticized Robinhood for these restrictions. One of the first barbs came when Rep. Ro Khanna, D-Calif., A progressive representing Silicon Valley, called for “more regulation and equality” in financial markets in a statement on Robinhood’s move. Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, DN.Y., and Sens. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, and Elizabeth Warren, D-Mass., Also blasted the company’s ruling.

The Senate Banking Committee and the House Financial Services Committee intend to hold hearings in the coming weeks on recent restrictions from trading platforms such as Robinhood. Vlad Tenev, the trading company’s CEO, is expected to appear before the House Committee on February 18.

The two lobbyists listed in the new file are Beth Zorc, Associate General Counsel of Robinhood, who has previous experience with Wells Fargo and the Senate Banking Committee, and Lucas Moskowitz, the company’s Deputy General Counsel. Moskow’s previous job included serving as chief of staff for former Securities and Exchange Commission chairman Jay Clayton.

Robinhood spent $ 275,000 on lobbying in 2020, according to the non-partisan Center for Responsive Politics. The companies commissioned by her campaigned for the SEC.

Another proposal that Robinhood is seeking is the Inclusive Prosperity Act of 2019. The bill was approved two years ago by Rep. Barbara Lee, D-Calif., And Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-Vt. Legislation hopes to impose a consumption tax on the transfer of ownership of certain securities, including any equity interest in a company.

A bill introduced by Rep. Patrick McHenry, RN.C., is also under review by Robinhood, according to the lobbying disclosure report. The law, which was introduced in 2020, aims to “limit the taxation of taxes and fees on transactions of certain participants in the securities industry and for other purposes”.

Almost everyone who sticks to their workout routine has found a type of fitness they love. This can mean taking Crossfit classes several times a week, running a run every morning, or hiring a personal trainer to guide you through an individual workout. However, everything comes at a cost.

So let’s talk about what you’ll spend in a variety of scenarios, from the cost of each type of gym, to the upgrades you’re likely to want, to the cost of comparing home alternatives.

Go to a no-frills gym

What it takes to get started: The main cost here is membership itself. Budget chain gyms can be as low as $ 10 or $ 20 a month, with slightly nicer spots around $ 50 or more. Watch out for additional fees in the fine print.

For your first day, you will need suitable shoes, clothes, and a gym bag with some basic items like a water bottle. The cost of this will vary, but you probably already have these items at home.

G / O Media can receive a commission

Possible upgrades: A good personal trainer can guide you through a workout and reduce your uncertainty about exactly what to do while making sure you are following a program that will lead you to your goals, regardless of what it is. Lessons Estimates An hour-long session with a trainer can average anywhere from $ 35 to $ 120, depending on how fancy your gym is.

If you are not working with a trainer, you can plan your workouts yourself and stick to your goals. Free or paid training programs or online trainers can fill the void. The prices vary widely.

Do it at home: There is no way they can fully recreate the fitness experience at home, since the whole reason to go to a gym is because they have all that stuff. But you can get by with a collection of free weights or resistance bands, a barbell with weights if you can grab one, and maybe a cardio machine or some running shoes. The price of this investment varies widely depending on how much equipment you want to collect.

Crossfit

What it takes to get started: Crossfit Boxing (as they are called) are among the most expensive gyms out there. A typical membership in the United States costs $ 156 per month. after laps for the timeBut that’s an average of unlimited memberships (often around $ 200) and limited ones (e.g., $ 100 for once or twice weekly access). Just like in a regular gym, you need basic workout clothes and equipment to get started.

Illustration for article titled How Much Does It Really Cost to Get Into Fitness?

Possible upgrades: Crossfit enthusiasts often collect specialty items such as different types of shoes, climbing socks, and more. Because exercise combines components like lifting, gymnastics, and cardio, you may need more equipment than a gym where you only do a few of the same things over and over again. If you take the sport seriously, you may also pay extra to spend more time in the gym or class.

Do it at home: Like a commercial gym, purchasing the equipment you need becomes very expensive very quickly. But many crossfit-style workouts can be done with little to no equipment: think burpees and running. You can google free training ideas or sign up for an online service like Parking on the street, which offers home workouts for $ 19 a month.

Indoor cycling

What it takes to get started: Classes in a fancy studio typically cost anywhere from $ 20 to $ 40, with packages and memberships bringing the cost down slightly. My local CycleBar offers a 10-class package for $ 169 or unlimited rides for $ 149 / month; in the same area SoulCycle fees $ 280 for a 10 class package.

Illustration for article titled How Much Does It Really Cost to Get Into Fitness?

Commercial gyms and community fitness centers sometimes offer bike classes as part of membership or as an add-on package for much less than trendy gyms.

Possible upgrades: If you do this long enough, you will end up wanting your own shoes, which cost around $ 100.

Do it at home: Peloton is the classic option here, and there are other companies out there that will sell you a similar smart bike. Peloton’s standard package is $ 2000 for the bike and accessories, and membership is an additional $ 39 per month.

You can also use the cheaper Peloton app (or another app like Apple Fitness +) with an indoor bike that you already own or you can Put your bike on an indoor trainer for a full DIY experience.

To run

What it takes to get started: Shoes to start with. If you have some old sneakers that won’t hurt your feet you’ll be fine, but pretty soon you’ll likely be buying a pair of real running shoes for around $ 100.

And if you have breasts, a quality sports bra is a must. Depending on how much assistance you need, you’ll see $ 20 to $ 50 or more. (Hand wash it after each run and you can get away with just one or two.)

Illustration for article titled How Much Does It Really Cost to Get Into Fitness?

Possible upgrades: If you’re serious about running, you probably want a watch that tracks your pace and other metrics like your heart rate. (Garmins are loved by serious runners; Fitbits or Apple Watches do the trick for most of us casual gamers.)

And then there are races. An entry fee for a local 5K is around $ 25, but marathons and halves can easily cost $ 100 and up. Big ticket marathons can cost $ 300, if you can even get in, and sometimes runners plan a vacation around their dream race. This is a sport that can cost as much or as little as you want.

Rachel Bradshaw reveals how the Bradshaw bunch modified her life

0

Rachel Bradshaw didn’t necessarily want to become a reality TV star.

Indeed as the daughter of Terry Bradshaw Revealed in the Feb. 8 episode of Get Real with Caroline Hobby, she was “utterly appalled” when E! ‘s documentaries The Bradshaw Bunch – the legendary quarterback, TV show icon, actor, and master horse breeder and family – follow as they blended fame and farm life, they took shape.

At that time Rachel tried to adjust to a “normal life” after the tragic death of her husband Tennessee Titans Kicker Rob Bironasand had moved to Texas from Nashville to give up the singing career she had pursued for years.

“Then my dad gets a call and says, ‘Hey girls, Tammy, do you want to have a family feud?'” The 33-year-old recalled on the podcast. “My immediate thing is, ‘I don’t want to be on TV. I don’t want to do anything in the entertainment world. Fuck it. I’m not going back.'”

However, Terry said something like, “Rachel, it’s Celebrity Family Feud. It’s not like asking you to be in a movie,” and she got the idea.

Republicans have opposed the cost of Biden’s plan, calling for “more targeted” relief – closer to $ 1,000 for those earning less than $ 40,000 a year. Democrat Joe Manchin, a key vote in a stalled Senate, has also criticized the proposed income thresholds. However, this week he said he would support the legislation if House Democrats “can show that $ 75,000 and $ 150,000 are really in need”. to Politico.
