The government sent out the third round of stimulus checks this month to help those in need during the pandemic.

The Internal Revenue Service’s Get My Payment tool allows users to keep track of where their payments are coming from and how they are being sent.

The IRS and the US Treasury Department said last week that checks valued at more than $ 442 million are in motion and more payments will be coming in through the postal service in the coming weeks.

Over 90 million stimulus payments have been sent to Americans by direct deposit, while over 150,000 paper checks have been sent.

Individuals eligible for the third stimulus payment were asked to look for the envelope containing the money, either as a check or an EIP debit card.

Recipients can track the $ 1,400 payment directly to their mailbox by using the IRS Stimulus Check Tracker tool, which also includes information about your payment schedule, when the check will arrive and how, and informing you if your Payment has encountered an error.

However, it doesn’t give you an exact date when you can expect payment.

INFORMED DELIVERY

Recipients can use the USPS Informed Delivery service to track the payment sent by post.

This shows when all of your letters have been scanned, are on the go, and have been delivered to your home – including your third check.

Informed Delivery is a free mail tracking service from the USPS that automatically scans your letters and can notify you with a picture each time a letter is delivered in your name.

Anyone who signs up for it can access the information by asking the USPS to notify you when any email with your name is on the way. However, it may take three days to activate your account.

The user will receive an email Monday through Saturday, six days a week, informing them of all emails delivered to you, not just the stimulus check.

The user can also see a grayscale image on the front of the letter.

The final check was capped at $ 1,400

The app can be used on both Android and iPhones.

The service can be canceled at any time.

There are some pitfalls with the service as it works with home and personal PO Box addresses, but not with businesses.

It will also not work with some apartment buildings where the postal service has not yet identified every unit.

To check if informed delivery is available in your area, go to the Postal Service’s Informed Delivery page.

  • Tap Sign Up for Free
  • Enter your mailing address and confirm that it works with the service. Then accept the terms and conditions and tap Next
  • On the next page, choose your username, password, and security questions. Then enter your contact information and tap Next.
  • On the next page you need to verify your identity. Tap Verify Identity Online if you’d like to receive a verification code on your phone, or tap Request an Invitation Code by Email if you’d like USPS to send you a code. You may also have the option to visit a post office to personally verify your identity.

There have been reports of problems with the stimulus checks where some Americans got only half of what they expected.

People desperate for the next economic impact payments say they stayed “angry” and “upset” as their questions have been dodged by both the IRS and their banks.

A Facebook group called “Half Stimulus Missing” was formed when all funds were not received.

Many members of the group report that their financial situation has not changed since the last two economic reviews when they received the full amount.

“According to the IRS, they sent us the full $ 5,600. According to my bank, they received $ 2,800 and there are no outstanding deposits, ”Cassie Greaney told KPNX.
