More than a year ago, thanks to the COVID-19 pandemic, many people became remote workers by default. It wasn’t exactly something most people had investigated – it just happened. Prior to the pandemic, around 20% of people in jobs that could be done remotely were reported to be working from home all or most of the time, according to data Pew Research. It is now 71%, 54% say they would choose to continue working from home and return to the office even after the pandemic is over.

However, it turns out that some states are better than others for remote workers when it comes to terms – such as low cost, reasonable convenience, and high levels of security. To find out which states are most (and least) remote worker friendly, WalletHub crunched the numbers and created an interactive map with the results. Here’s what to know.

But how close were the conditions for remote workers during the COVID to those before the pandemic? Dr. Yemisi Awotoye, Assistant Professor of Management at Gonzaga University tells WalletHub::

Due to the additional challenges that COVID brings, such as: B. Restrictions on where we can go and what we can do, current Work From Home Regulations (WFH) may not really reflect normal work from home. In particular, some believe that COVID WFH could easily become a case of being at work rather than working from home. Hence, there is a critical need for people to strike a balance between their work and personal life.
