AMERICANS only have one day to claim missing stimulus check money and get cash as part of their 2020 tax return, the IRS warned.
The deadline for filing taxes is Monday, May 17th, and anyone short of Stimulus Cash must apply for Recovery Rebate Credit.

Since the Covid-19 pandemic began shutting jobs around the world, the U.S. has made three rounds of stimulus checks available to eligible Americans.
If you were eligible and did not receive a check, or if you believe you did not receive the correct amount, the IRS recommends contacting the agency carefully.
“There are a small number of people who haven’t received their stimulus payments,” IRS spokesman Luis Garcia told WANE.
“We ask you to be patient with us and to keep contacting us.”

The IRS has an 800 number that people with questions about their stimulus status can call – 800-829-1040 – but completing the form to reclaim discounts with your 2020 taxes should still be a priority.
This applies to people who normally do not have to file taxes as well, e.g. B. for people who receive social security.
Americans can claim missing funds when applying for Recovery Rebate Credit, Garcia said.
The missing cash will then be included in your 2020 tax return.
The quickest way to get the money is to request a direct deposit instead of a check.
If you haven’t filed taxes before, experts recommend doing so online rather than through the mail for a faster return from the IRS.

If filing just doesn’t seem possible by Monday, Americans can apply for an extension as a last resort.
This gives you until October 15th to submit.
Experts say it is better to submit or request an extension than to miss the registration deadline.
Jen Psaki of the White House says the fourth stimulus check is a matter of Congress and “not for free.”
