Bengaluru, September 7th (IANS) Crooks created a fake Facebook profile of the Karnataka minister for large and medium-sized industries, Murugesh R. Nirani, demanding money from FB users. Nirani, shocked by the development, appealed to his friends and supporters on Tuesday not to fall victim to it.

“I have noticed that some malicious elements have fraudulently created a fake account with my name on social media platforms and spread false messages. They are also asking for money. This is completely wrong,” he said.

“Please do not fall victim to such scammers and false propaganda. I am considering filing a cybercrime complaint with the police, ”said Nirani.

The crooks, after starting a conversation about a fake account held by the minister, demanded 10,000 rupees, claiming they needed money to transfer to a friend. The development has embarrassed both Nirani and the police cyber cell, which has now opened the case for investigation.

RADIO host Larry Elder has insisted that the descendants of slave owners are “owed money” because their “property” was stolen from them at the end of the Civil War.

The 69-year-old Conservative writer told the Candace Owens Show that slavery was legal at the time and owners had their property stolen when it was then abolished.

He claimed this meant they were entitled to reparations as much as black Americans who were descendants of slaves.

Elder and Owens, both black, discussed reparations and racial relations in the aftermath of their July 18 show when they both claimed that the black community was “playing the sacrifice card.”

Reparations are widely advocated by activists to mitigate the financial impact of slavery on black Americans.

It calls for federal funds and other resources to be allocated to black communities to offset the blockages to economic progress caused by slavery.

However, Elder believes that the introduction of the 13th Amendment, which partially abolished slavery in 1865, also put slave owners in financial trouble.

“When people talk about reparation, do they really want to have this conversation? Like it or not, slavery was legal, ”Elder said.

“Their legal property was taken away from them after the civil war, so it could be argued that the people who are owed reparations are not only blacks, but also those whose ‘property’ was taken away after the civil war ended.”

But according to the New York Times, slave owners in Washington have at least already received reparations under the District of Columbia Emancipation Act signed by Abraham Lincoln in 1862.

She gave those loyal to the Union $ 300 for each freed enslaved person, while the freed slaves themselves received nothing.

Elder’s comments in July began with Owens falsely claiming that the US was among the first countries in the world to abolish the slave trade when, according to Politifact, it was in fact one of the last.

In response, Elder spoke about the United Kingdom, where former slave owners received £ 20 million in compensation from the British Slave Compensation Commission in 1833.

He claimed the funds were the reason Britain did not wage a civil war over slavery.

“If you look at the amount of money that is adjusted for today’s dollars, it’s a lot of money that the former slaveholders got, which is one of the reasons they didn’t go to war,” speculated the host, although there wasn’t any Evidence existed that there would have been a civil war because of slavery in the country.

ELDER’S RUN FOR GOVERNOR

Elder, who has aired since 1993, is currently running to replace California Governor Gavin Newsom.

His campaign was ravaged by scandal in August after his ex-fiancée Alexandra Datig alleged he verbally and emotionally abused her, including an incident when he allegedly waved a loaded gun to threaten her while high on marijuana .

Alexandra Datig claims she broke off the couple’s 18-month engagement and regrets that she was forced to be branded with a “Larry’s Girl” tattoo.

Elder rejects the allegations and remains the front runner among the replacement candidates.

The subject of reparations has been debated in America for more than a century.

In 1865, William Sherman, a general in the Union Army during the Civil War, ordered that land confiscated from Confederate landowners be divided into parts and distributed to newly emancipated African Americans.

However, following the assassination of President Abraham Lincoln, the order was overturned by his successor, President Andrew Johnson.

FIGHT FOR REPAIRS

Discussions about whether and how the government should pay reparations to the descendants of slaves, however, remained unsuccessful.

In April, the US House of Representatives (HJC) Judiciary Committee approved a bill that should establish a program to investigate how and if reparations could be made to black citizens to atone for the country’s slave trade.

In February, the White House announced that President Joe Biden would support the study of reparation for slavery – but later failed to confirm whether he would sign the HJC bill.

In July, a Massachusetts hamlet overwhelmingly voted to set up a $ 210,000 fund to pay reparations to its black residents to atone for slavery.

Other cities and towns in the United States weighed similar measures over the past year.

In March, Evanston, Illinois became the first city in the United States to begin paying reparations for slavery, pledging $ 10 million in cash.

Western Union and MoneyGram announced Thursday that they will resume money transfer services to Afghanistan to facilitate vital remittances to a country facing major economic hurdles following its takeover by the Taliban last month.

“Western Union is pleased to announce that it will resume money transfer services to Afghanistan on September 2nd so that our customers can resume sending money and helping their loved ones at that time,” said a spokesman.

“We understand the urgent needs of our customers and their families and are determined to support them,” the spokesman said, adding that Western Union will be waiving wire transfer fees from September 3-17.

According to the spokesman, the service offers payments in Afghanistan in both Afghanistan and in US dollars through seven banks, and transfers have been suspended “because the banking network was essentially closed and there were obvious liquidity problems”.

“But we have now given assurances from our banking partners that a number of branches have been open in the last few days and more and more every day, and we have also assured that they have good liquidity,” added the spokesman.

MoneyGram said in a statement that they would resume service on Thursday, following “guidance from the US government” and “in coordination with our partners in the country and the Afghan banking association.”

If you have an employed income and pay tax through the Pay-As-You-Earn (PAYE) system, you may sometimes overpay or underpay.

HM Revenue & Customs (HMRC) does a PAYE record review at the end of each fiscal year in April, which shows whether you have paid too much or too little tax automatically by HMRC.

When you are due for a tax refund, HMRC will send you a letter called P800, but these letters don’t always bring an unexpected windfall – they are issued even if you haven’t paid enough tax.

The letter will tell you if you can apply for a refund online through the UK government website. However, you will only receive a P800 after the tax year ends and usually before the end of September.

You may have paid too much tax if:

• You started a new job and had an emergency tax number for a while

• Your employer used the wrong tax code

• HMRC may have done something wrong, so the repayment may be too high or not enough

If HMRC repays you too much and you don’t tell them, they could fine you if they think you negligently failed to notice the overpayment. You would also have to return the excess amount paid to you.

If you are due a refund of less than £ 10, HMRC will only refund you if you submit an application – their systems will not automatically issue it.

What is a P800 Tax Calculation?

P800 letters are typically sent between June and October after the tax year ends.

The Low Income Tax Reform Group website states: “Your employer will tell HMRC how much income you have received and how much tax you have paid throughout the tax year.

“Banks and building societies also notify HMRC of the interest they have paid you on accounts held in your name.”

Using this information, HMRC then carries out an automatic reconciliation at the end of each tax year. This means that they compile all the information received to find out whether or not you paid the correct amount of tax.

This is how you can claim you paid too much tax

The tax year ended April 5, 2021, contact HMRC and let them know why you think you paid too much. You have four years to claim a refund from the end of the tax year in which the overpayment occurred.

What to do if you haven’t paid enough taxes

Those who have paid too little will be notified between June and October.

This is usually the case if you have more than one source of income, have changed jobs, or are receiving taxable fringe benefits such as health insurance.

HMRC must inform you of the underpayment error within 12 months. If not, you can ask them to stop the additional tax claim.

If you are unable to pay the amount due for more than a year, you can request that the repayment be split over several tax years.

The first half of the final season will be released in the UK at 8am on the streaming service. But fans are still baffled as to why the characters are named after cities – so here’s what the showrunners had to say …

Why is the cast of Money Heist named after cities?

In an interview with Lifestyle Magazine, showrunner Alex Pina revealed that they first decided they needed to give each character a unique code name, and that using cities is just one of several different ideas the writers are considering.

Alex explained, “We had a number of ideas, including planet names. Then one day someone came with a t-shirt that said Tokyo and that’s how it all began.”

Suddenly inspired, Alex abandoned the plan to name the characters by planets and began assigning different cities to each of the crooks.

Who came up with the names for the cast of Money Heist?

After the crew decided to use city names instead of planets, they realized they needed a way to make it meaningful within the plot of the show.

Although they briefly considered assigning cities from their countries of origin to the characters, they decided it would make more sense to make the names seemingly random.

The authors argued that the mastermind behind the operation, The Professor, would randomly assign code names in hopes of tricking police into thinking that everyone had a meaning – which resulted in law enforcement wasting time analyzing it .

The only exception to this rule is Stockholm, aka Monica, whose nickname comes from speculation that she suffered from Stockholm Syndrome.

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WBRC) – Health services are grappling with a persistent lack of care and once you link this to the pandemic they are determined to provide additional help.

Governor Kay Ivey announced Friday that she was providing CARES Act funding in support. Funds from the CARES Act will be used to help pay for out-of-state nurses who come back and help.

The $ 12.3 million federal grant will fund travel nurses who return to the state of Alabama to help with the health services they want.

Dr. Don Williamson, director of the Alabama Hospital Affiliation, says the nurses will not be dispatched immediately. Part of the method is figuring out who needs the help most and then creating a plan based primarily on serving the areas that are most needed.

At the moment, he says that more than half of the ventilators available are used by people with COVID, and we have reported a mattress deficit in the intensive care unit, each with an extremely thin staff.

“We are very confident that over the next few days and weeks we will be supporting some of our hospitals that have been so negatively affected by this disaster,” said Williamson.

Dr. Williamson calls it an important level and commends the governor for raising the funds to get aid.

A popular character who won’t be part of this new world is Nairobi (Alba Flores), who was shockingly killed towards the end of the fourth series.

“In a sense, Nairobi was the heart of the gang,” explains director Jesús Comenar.

“But I think she would have had a hard time fitting in this last season because this is a season of face-to-face confrontation.

“We have many examples in international series fiction that we think have dragged on for too long.

“And I think the smartest thing about when a series is at the height of its success is to go with a bang and make a season that is very special in so many ways.

“It’s very different from all previous seasons and we all put our eggs in one basket to go out with a bang.”

The way it sounds, Jesus means it quite literally …

“We built a kit that is littered with explosives so we can blow it up,” he said.

“I don’t think a set on a series has ever been so short-lived. It’s a spectacular set, by the way.

“It’s the luxurious dining room of the Bank of Spain and the Gold Museum, which are on the top floor of the bank, and the armory. This season is one of total destruction. “

EDDIE HEARN wants to see Jake Paul fight Conor McGregor and make lots of money, then quit his boxing career.

The YouTuber extended his record to 4-0 in the ring when he secured a seven-round split decision win over Tyron Woodley last weekend.

Despite his victory over former UFC champion, Matchroom promoter Hearn believes the “novelty” of the social media star competing in the ring is starting to fade.

Woodley wants a rematch, but after the lack of action last weekend, the assertiveness of the two will be lacking.

The day after Woodley petitioned for a rematch, Paul told his opponent on social media that he would have to get a tattoo that read “I love Jake Paul” if he wanted to shoot him again.

Paul announced afterward that he would retire from the ring, but a potential fight with UFC megastar McGregor would almost certainly lure him back.

McGregor has also expressed an interest in fighting Paul, and the clash would sell millions through pay-per-view.

Now Hearn has given Paul some advice, says iFL TV: “Look, you have to take your hat off.

“The product is not really great. The idea is great, the hype is great, but what you actually see is just not very good. “
