BUCKS Fizz star Cheryl Baker has announced that she is currently living on £ 950 a month.

66-year-old Cheryl, who won Eurovision with Bucks Fizz in 1981, previously stayed afloat by touring with bandmates Mike Nolan and Jay Ashton as a break-away group called The Fizz.

But when live performances screeched to a halt thanks to the pandemic, Cheryl The Sun announced that she had reached out to her pension to pay her mortgage.

She said, “I started paying into pensions when I was 21 but had to cash in all but one for one reason or another.

“So I’m getting a government pension of £ 700 a month plus £ 250 from my private one, which is great.

“At 66, I still have a mortgage. I don’t suppose there are many people my age who still have one. They were sensible with their money or have downsized. “

The singer also confessed she’s got to pay a huge tax bill – and is now growing her own vegetables in her Kent home to keep costs down.

Sometimes it was so difficult for bandmates, co-stars, and fans to offer financial support.

She shared, “Mike [Ashton] called me and said, “I’m getting on the train. Pick me up at the train station, I’ll bring cash for you.

“My Dancing On Ice skating partner Dan Whiston called and offered to send money.
