LEON EDWARDS said Jorge Masvidal’s rematch with Kamaru Usman was about money – as British Colby Covington exclaimed.
Welterweight world champion Usman defeated Masvidal in July. The grudge game sold 1.3 million pay-per-views.

Dana White recently announced that the rivals will fight again on April 24th in what Edwards believes is a money heist.
He said to Joe Rogan, “It’s about money, right? Donkeys in the seats. I think the fight is 10 times out of 10, Usman (wins) probably nine.
“It’s a good, fun fight for the fans, but as a martial artist, it’s just one of them.
“Usman is going to go out there and probably hold him down. I’ll be sure to watch.
“But if I had to put money into it, I’d probably go to Usman again to win.”
Masivdal, 36, took a week off to battle for the title on Fight Island but was beaten on points.
He hasn’t returned since, while 33-year-old Usman stopped Gilbert Burns, 34, in round three at UFC 258 in February.
He then called out Masvidal, despite having already beaten him, and vowed to win by knockout this time.

Meanwhile, 29-year-old Edwards returned to headlining Belal Muhammad that month after two years.
But it ended in a no-contest early in the second round after 32-year-old Muhammad stood at the end of an accidental wink.
Edwards has slowed down talk of a rematch and instead wanted to fight for the belt against Usman, the last man to beat him.
After Masvidal had received the title shot, the star from Birmingham turned to the former interim champion Covington (32).
Edwards said, “We’re trying to get Colby Covington so we’ll see what he says.
“Well, May, early June. We’ll see. But I want to be active this year.
“I had a long year and a half off. So if we can knock them out, I’ll keep knocking them out.”
