During the episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live! On January 18, the 25-year-old singer recalled how a recent Instagram post sparked pregnancy rumors.
It all started last week when Lipa posted side-by-side photos of herself modeling a green ensemble and labeled the snaps with a series of emojis.
“I like to find little random emojis,” she explained to the host Jimmy Kimmel. “I put a little baby bottle, a little angel and some glitter in it. By chance. I really haven’t thought this through.”
It was these little symbols, and not the outfit of the day, that got the followers talking.
“I posted it and then I look at the comments and then someone says, ‘Is she pregnant?'” Lipa continued. “And I look at the picture, I look at the comment, I look at the picture, I look at the comment [and] I say, “I sure don’t look pregnant.” And then I see that people have written stories that say I posted a cryptic message that I may be announcing my pregnancy. And I say, ‘Oh my god. These emojis came to bite my ass. ‘”
