Netflix has built its over 200 million subscriber base on the back of some great original TV series, and there’s a good chance you’ll see (or already have) the big ones: Bridgerton, The Witcher, Stranger Things, Tiger King, The Queen’s Gambit, Lupine, etc. Even if you haven’t seen them, they are so vivid that you know their names. But there’s a lot more where they come from – and some of it is as good or better than these flagship series.

Yes, while Netflix started out as a streaming service by licensing previously released material, the DVD rental company that has grown into a media giant has been around for the past eight years – since the launch of its first original, House of Cards, in 2013 – a huge library of original series and miniseries, so many that it can be hard to keep up with.

Here are, in no particular order, some of Netflix’s most entertaining and awe-inspiring hidden gems – shows you probably don’t see but should definitely see.
